Have one. Very lucky. Highly recommend talking and not oogling*. Greater success rate.

Synesthesia is an interesting condition.  It is thought, at least partially, to be a condition where sensory inputs are handled by an inappropriate part of the brain -- for instance being able to "feel" sounds, or "smell" colors.  Most synesthetics are color-shape synesthetics, where certain shapes automatically trigger a visual response; perhaps triangles always look green to them, or the letter "W" always appearing in red.

Thats bizarre.  Never knew of such a condition.  Guess you learn something everyday.

My personal theory is that hallucinogens cause temporary synesthesia.  A lot of people who have gone on acid trips say that they are able to "see" music, for instance -- something I imagine might happen if auditory signals were sent to your visual cortex.  It wouldn't know what to do with them, but it would almost certainly do something!
