By the engine room, it's a lot sadder.

You tell her that you two need to stay as crew members and friends, and that's it.

She responds with "Right. And it's an honor to be your friend and crew member, Shepard" (something like that, I'm butchering it). What makes it sad is the way she says it. She says it like, her face is all tensed-up, as if she's trying to fight back crying.  You can really hear how crushed she is, despite her words telling you otherwise. 

Could never reject. Glad I did not. Heart caught in throat when she asks "...Are you still interested?" Superior voice acting.

In the first romance dialogue I oncc chose the "You're embarrased?" option. It went:
Shepard:Wait, I can't tell under the helmet, are you blushing?
Tali: What? No! It's the fever I swear!
Her little stuttering during that line was so adorable.

Yeah, this was while I was taking some screenshots, and I figured I'd explore the other dialog options out of curiousity.

Absolutely reloaded the previous save after hearing it. <3

And you will know Liz Sroka's VA talent to it's full extent, so it's worth it.

I don't know how you all can do mean things to Tali... I cant bring myself to do it, I always play the same; doing whatever I would do in any given situation

Not fully. I've only seen one of her deaths on the suicide mission (youtube, she never died on my watch!), and I have zero interest in seeing the other two, specifically the swarm one. That's just too tragic.

Well, there are a few times you can turn her down. The only one that appears to be on Youtube is the one during the romance scene, which actually seems to be the least sad one.

You tell her it's too dangerous, and she responds that she knows you're right, and that you can't blame a girl for trying. She doesn't sound that broken up about it. Perhaps it's because she already knows you care for her.
