Am I the only that spoiled for myself that she was an LI before the game?  I mean, part of me would have loved to have been surprised like that, but learning that she was an LI a few days before the game came out made me want to play so much more.  Going into the game, that was one of the main things I wanted.  I kind of feel like I would have been massively disappointed with the rest of ME2 if she wasn't an LI again.

I'll probably end up doing the same thing for ME3 though.  Following until the last minute to make sure that Tali is a squad member and doesn't get Liara'd.  I think I would be just fine not buying a ME3 without Tali.

I kinda regret watching the launch trailer before playing it, too. I realized Archangel was Garrus quickly on, because I remembered seeing him in the trailer.

Either way, I can't answer. Tali might be my favorite character, but Garrus is a very close second. Hell, I freaked out when I thought that rocket blast killed him back on Omega.

Reading this makes me wonder how Quarian relationships work. Since seeing each other's facial expression or sharing intimacies is nearly impossible for them, they probably have to compensate for that by a) being very honest and trusting and with much physical contact, like hugging, cuddling and other stuff that makes you go *AWWWW* (must... resist... urge... to add... a heart smiley)

Sorry for the self-quoting, post got lost in the fast moving thread. I just thought this is an interesting thing to think about. Tali once said that Quarians are very social people to make up for being stuck in their suits, but being in a relationship is often complicated enough without wearing space suits 24/7. How do you think Quarians make up for that?

While they obviously can't have physical contact as much as other races, I don't think it's so bad. Tali specifically mentions that when they link suits, they "get sick at first" and then adapt. So I can imagine a Quarian couple, after being together for a while, can be physical with each other and have very little or no reaction.

Same. I wasn't trying to 'save' anything for myself, I just wasn't sure if I wanted to play ME2. I LIKED the first game, but didn't love it, so when I rented the second game, EVERYTHING was new to me, so when I discovered that Tali was not only a returning squadmate, but now a LI I nearly exploded with joy.

I plan on doing the same for ME3 so I don't ruin anything. All I'm going to do is keep checking until I know for SURE what role Tali will play, but nothing more.

That was the best part! I love how they used Tali in arguably the most dramatic squad-member moment of the game.  (And we know she survived!)

I also like that Tali was the only one who's name was mentioned in the trailer, aside from Shepard of course. It gives me hope that there are more talimancers on the inside than we know...

 I saw that earlier, it's nice. It's unlikely Quarians have the same "white wedding dress" tradition that a lot of humans do, but I can see a Tali/Shepard wedding being a mix of both traditions.

The haters may be vocal, but I'm happy knowing the Talimancer to hater ratio is very, very high.
I'm pretty sure that she will play a good role in ME3, but I still have this creeping anxiety.
