Well they made it so you can do all the content after you beat the game so I'm assuming all the DLC is playable before and after the key missions.

This flexibility always has me wonder about some of the fishier parts in the story.

Even the love interests are doable after the main quest is finished. I saved all of Tali's romance for after the suicide mission once, and after you have that second converstaion with her where she says that she will find a way, Shepard apparently just immidietly teleports to his room while Tali gets those antibiotics and herbal supplements in mere seconds. 

She had everything ready to go for when Shep made up his damn mind.

After the suicide mission you can do all love interests back to back basically. I did Tali first, dumped her did Jack dumped her and did Miri. then dumped her and got Kelly to visit me. When you finish the romance arc when you talk to them again they reset to the point where they basically say" are you sure you want to do this?"

That's why I said "primarily."  It's an add-on.  For me, continuity generally is secondary to just getting more stuff for the game.

And the "heretics didn't link up to get infected/destroyed" explanation is perfectly valid, whether you think it's too facile or not.  I'm sure that at least some of the heretics have even twigged to what's going on and went dark to save themselves.

Possibly but I think it'll be a lot more fun if the whole thing was one massive trap. A Xanatos Gambit if you will.

When you beat the end boss it asks you if you want to continue or quit to menu, click continue. You can play and finish up any unfinish missions and do LI stuff.

Less than a year. I cant do the math in my head but Im pretty sure that AI when you first visit the Citadel has it figured out.

The wikia timeline isn't clear.  All the events are listed as happening in 2183.

ZING! But no, for reals. I accidently broke up with Tali after the end game and then takled to Miranda and she was like "we got a lot of work to do Sheepard". I guess that was cuz I Renegaded her

Yeah but I thought the Omega 4 relay launched the "do" part of your statement lol since you already beat it, what "launches" your romance?
