I hear it's quite a show though   point is I have only 1 playthrough on ME1 (first) with a romance (Liara) and not one playthrough on ME2 that isn't Tali. I was gunna do Jack on my Renegade playthrough but halfway through Tali got recruited and Shepard was like :O:O.....damn loyalty mission.

My Rene-Jake romanced Jack early on(Hot sex scene), and then became a Cerberus tool with miranda... Rawr

I don't buy it.  I think the salarians saw a shortcut to winning the rachni war and took it without considering the long-term consequences.  Which may or may not be surprising, given their short life spans.

Krogan had unstoppable numbers and the biology to withstand the harsh planets the Rachni lived on. Rachni where winning with out the introduction of the Krogan. So logically the other races could counter the Rachni numbers.

Which begs the question about why the Council races were fighting ground wars for unlivable planets when they could just flatten that stuff from orbit and call it a day.  I mean, any war is going to have to be won in space first, and I don't see the krogans contributing a lot there.

I've only done the latter. I should try it sometime though, since I'm all up for experimenting.

they where fighting there to stop them at the source, Kill the queens you stop the drones. The way you win wars is to prevent your enemies ability to wage war. So it would be the equvilant of attacking another races military production facilities. They can't make ships and arms they can't fight back.
