Sig is still broken. The problem is with the URL. remove the "social.bioware.com/" from it.

Were they stoned while playing ME? Tali's just as big a character, if not bigger, than most characters in the franchise... Even Wrex has taken a backseat to her
This poll still stands
But what was it like after everyone's first playthrough? Cuz to be honest I didn't fully talk to Wrex or Tali or anyone really my first playthrough (didn't understand how Bioware games worked), which is what my brothers and a few of my friends did. Some didn't even play ME1 so they didn't notice Tali at all.
It's all good, though :innocent:. Tali isn't the mainstream LI and it shouldn't surprise me.
I'm not sure how you've come to the conclusion that she isn't the mainstream LI. Depends on the definition of mainstream I guess, I'm assuming you mean popular. I would imagine Tali is far and away the most popular LI among people who played ME1. Every other site I've looked at Tali always comes out ahead as well. It isn't just this site.
Mass Effect tends to have a more mature player base from what I've seen, and stereotyping or not, those people tend to gravitate towards the emotional connection with Tali above the shallow appearance factor with Miranda. Jack's appearance turns a lot of people off, as does Miranda's attitude. I sound like a fan boy, but there's really nothing to not like about Tali. The only reason I ever see thrown around is hype backlash.
She might have the most fans, but out of everyone who buys the game and plays through it once, Tali is not the mainstream LI. Miranda's feature on the trailer at least means she's the mainstream LI in Bioware's mind. Again, I'm not sure on the exact numbers.

There is no "mainstream' in bioware's eyes, and as far as numbers go, Tali would be mainstream.

Sounds a lot like my playthrough, except I didn't replay ME1 romanceless until after beating ME2.
But yeah, I loved Tali in ME1.Always had her along.

In ME1 she probably had the smallest role of any of the alien crewmates. Liara is, of course, a keystone character with an important part in the plot. Wrex and Garrus both had their own missions that they ask you to do and that they accompany you on. Their personal dialogues also said a lot about their characters: Garrus as the C-Sec officer torn between his job and his desire to right injustices, and Wrex as the tough but noble Krogan merc who wants to return his race to greatness. Wrex's stories about his mercenary exploits give him a ton of personality.
In comparison, Tali's quest is completely miss-able if you don't happen to do the Geth Incursion quests -- she never asks you to do anything, and you never have to take her along anywhere. Also, you learn precious little about her personality in the dialogues with her. I like her character in ME1, but it is mostly because of her commentary during elevator scenes, mission interjections, etc. Her dialogues are mostly about the Quarians and their history in general; the only things you learn about her personally is that her father is an authoritarian and politician, and her mother died years ago, and these two things by themselves do not tell you much about her as a person.
Of course in ME2 she plays a much larger role, thank goodness, but story-wise Wrex still has an arguably more important part (at least for now -- we will see what happens with Tali and the Geth in ME3).

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure EA handled the entire ad campaign, Bioware either had nothing, or little to do with promoting Miranda over Tali.
That said, as far as promotions go, it's a smart move to promote the known star (Yvonne Strahovsky,) attractive character over the good friend with the emotional connection. That comes off pretty bad in 5 seconds of a commercial.
I would also consider people who played ME 1 or 2 once through quickly and that's it to be a small minority. It's definitely not the majority or mainstream crowd.

Exactly. If you don't have her in your squad (like I did my first ME1 playthrough) you don't get all that personal stuff. It took another playthrough and having her in my squad cuz I "already rolled with Garrus and Liara" to appreciate her. Now after so many playthroughs, you finally learn which characters you love the most and which you love to hate (Ashley
