Profile picture changed. I am a Shepard I shall look like Shepard. Besides, I have a theory: Tali feels closer to Renegade Shepard because Renegade Shepard could easily say "I didn't think you would see past, this" and Shepard points to his scars. Tali then says "I felt the same way about my helmet!", "No way, we're perfect for each other!" :innocent:

DISCUSS!

On the other hand, ReneShep is a jerk.

No no, not to Tali, I'm a Renegon through and through. Would never dream, of Renegade.

Ah, but to everyone else.  She sees all that, too, you know.

Trust me, I know what I'm doing. I have my canon Shepard with max Paragon and Renegade, so I start out with +187 to both in ME2. So I make sure I choose mostly Paragon options with Tali. Don't forget, many Renegade options are uber heroic....dashing, I might say :P

They should develop ME3's graphics entirely around PCs, and then just downgrade them for the console guys.

Now, some of the Xbox'ers here may be wondering "Well what good does that do me?", and here's your answer. Imagine Tali screenshots and videos with this level of detail!

 That's a 2 year old game, too. :P

I'd prefer not to have to buy a new comp for ME3.

We can be pretty much assured that ME3, will have pretty much the same graphics as ME2 :P

Oh, I know.  I was just telling sergio it wasn't necessarily a great idea.  Even for PC users.

I don't think renegade Shepard would be very self conscious about his scars, especially since he can get rid of them.

Besides, Tali is almost entirely "paragon", with the exception of in regards to the Geth. Though, I suspect in regards to the Geth, it's up to the player to "mold" her attitude about them; we'll see more of it in ME3.

It's kinda like with Garrus, how you can influence him to be paragon/renegade when he seeks justice.

That's good because my computer can handle ME2 graphics anything more advanced wouldn't work though.

Similar conditions?
1) Being the daughter of an admiral is pretty different, she even tells you this in depth.

What she says is that she "probably had it easier than most".  She was not a celebrity, or rich, or live in a mansion.  She still grew up in a ship crammed with people, still had to live in a suit, still had to suffer all the injustices that the Quarians endure on a regular basis.  I don't think anything truly significant is different about the conditions she grew up under as opposed to other Quarians.

2) There are how many ships that people grow up on in the flotilla? You're generalizing.

But they still grew up on ships.  She tells you that she is used to the sounds of old, rattling parts and lack of privacy.  They don't have luxury ships in the floatilla.  I'm generalizing because Tali was generalizing.  Quarians have it rough, that is just how it is.

And since when is knowing how someone is the way they are, not knowing a lot about their personality?

But you have to know how they are first.  She doesn't really let you know that in the first game, at least not through the engine-room dialogue.

In other words, knowing someones past does not mean you know anything about their personality.
However, knowing someone's past can help you understand their personality once you know it.

1) She also says people expected more from her than other people
2) So what if they grew up on ships, it's not the ships that make a community, it's the people inside those ships

How can you say you know someone, if you have no insight into the reason they are the way the are... And also, you do learn about her personality as well, just by the way she relates to you everything about the quarians and her life.

I'm already skirting the edge for ME2.  I was very glad when they released that patch to fix the game for single cores.

Yeah let's not get started stereotyping all Shepard's that lean towards renegades as jerks.  That's no more correct than calling all paragons pansies.  Renegade to bad guys, paragon to crew members/the two or three people in ME2 that deserve it is my preferred way to play.

As far as the whole scars thing, it just didn't seem like the scars were a big enough deal.  No one references them at all at any point in the game.  It would be odd if Shep automatically assumed that Tali, someone who I can't see being caught up on superficial appearances, would be the first.

I know I'm joking about Tali liking Renegade Shep cuz of his scars :P Was all in good fun. I agree though that Renegade (Renegon in most of our cases) is not as much of a douchebag in this game. With the exception of the renegade options during conversations (specifically going Renegade while Thane is talking about his dead wife, that's just cold).

Again, Renegade is stretching it, I've tried twice now to go 100% Renegade and can't even go 75% Renegade lol, the scars are wicked though.

I can't see how Tali can be almost entirely paragon, except the geth.  Most of her opinions are in regards to the geth.  She's more paragon than most.  But she has plenty of renegade lines and choices.  The Prazza and Qwib Qwib interactions come to mind as renegade.

She's very nice to people who deserve it, doesn't mean she's 95% paragon.

You don't think throwing dudes out of skyscrapers is heroic?  You don't think burning talkative krogans to death is dashing?  Clearly you know nothing about swashbuckl...

Okay, nevermind, couldn't pull it off.

Just finished my first Renegade run on ME2 true I didn't feel nearly as bad as in ME1 but playing Renegade honestly made me feel bad, so I'll not be doing that again.

Renegade option when you take Legion to the flotilla:
Greeter: Get that thing out of here!
Renegade Shepard: You know sometimes when I take Tali around the citadel people call her "that thing".

That's heroic IMO.  Just one example but my point is Renegade options are all "jerk" or "douchebag" Shepard.

What did she do negatively in regards to Prazza and Qwib Qwib?

I mean yeah, she called Qwib Qwib a bosh'tet, but that was completely understandable, given Qwib Qwib's previous dailog.

And Prazza, well, he just wouldn't follow orders. Hell, when they first encountered the Cerberus team, she immediately yelled for weapons to be put down (which was before she noticed Shepard), that's paragon-y :D

I think that's more snarky than heroic.  And I'm sure Tali loves being reminded of that.

Yeah, it's tough following a biological imperative.  On the other hand, the chances I'll die alone are somewhat mitigated now.  And I always get a sincere hug (or two) when I get home, so...
