Yes, yes it was.

It was spammy as hell. You'd have entire pages of literally nothing but Keelah'Seelai. Every time someone announced they were logging on or off.

And people would spam the hell out of their fanfiction. Several times a day. Hell sometimes several times in a couple page span if no one responded to them.

There was no discussion about anything, it just got washed away.

This is absolutely true.  Hell, I find the conversations along the lines of "OMG you guys, I want to meet Tali in real life; what would you do if she was reeaalll!?" much, much more disturbing than anything Other Jake posts, which always and without fail has the naughty bits censored if it's particularly risqué.  He never starts these fights; it's always someone getting on their high horse and trying to enforce their personal standards on the rest of the posters who gets people fired up.

Not to mention that my risque pics are a very small portion of what I actually post... most of the time I'm discussing current topics, posting random bits of fan art from deviant art, or having a chat with someone. Quite a few times, I'm even pushing topics on-topic... People need to L2read imo

Yes.
I don't care for, and don't read, fanfics.  I come into this topic to have conversations with fellow Tali fans that are largely (but not entirely) about Tali and ME in general.  So do a great many of the posters here.  It is nice to have a place where you can talk and not feel restricted.  This thread allows us not to worry about posting too much Tali stuff, if it strikes our fancy, but enforcing topic rules too much keeps people from having real, organic conversation.

If you want a thread like that, you can post a topic called "***TALI FANFICS HERE***", or something to that effect.  I bet not many people will be spending much time there, though.
