all this nonsense right now, I don't think I'll be coming back here again, at least not for a long while.

This is really getting ridiculous. The sole purpose of this thread is to support and discuss Tali. Yes, it's all right to go slightly off topic on occasion, and yes, things are going to start to slow down as time progresses; it's not like we can keep talking about Tali for the next two years (anyone who says otherwise honestly is quite foolish). But at no time are we to start flaming each other or trolling just because we disagree! We are the civilized supporters of Tali'Zorah vas Normandy nar Rayya, and we are capable of great deeds. We are not  blood-enraged krogan! (No offense to any krogan out there.)

:alien: Our influence stopped the flaming, but before that, we held the line. Our influence stopped the trolls, but before that, we held the line! Our influence will keep Tali'Zorah in Mass Effect 3! In the battles today and for the next two years, we will hold the line! :alien:

I hope you all take to heart what has been said here, as we are Tali's only chance; it would sadden me greatly if we were her undoing.

Oh! While I'm thinking about it, request advice from doc and any other tali mancers who give a flying f***.

Thinking about adding sex scene to oneshot collection, not smut mind you, will remain tasteful as possible, don't want to degrade tali. Good idea or not?

Also writing seperate chapter where renegade shepard turns tali renagade after exile. similar to femshep with kaidan. thoughts on ideas? suggestions?

All supposed "race" is lie among humans. Only one race.
Culture does not require thinning, but after years in space, unlikely to be intact anyway. Harms nothing.
Now go romance Tali, or will use...

What you said is exactly what I argued, to the letter.  I love the quarians, I identify with them as a species more than any other in the ME universe, but they played with fire, and subsequently got burned.

Actually, if people actually spent time and talked to Legion, he plays the audio file of the exact moment when the geth asked "Do we have souls?"
What makes it heartbreaking is how it is said. Much akin to a 3 or 4 year old asking that very same question. Instead of coming to terms with the possibility that they have made a mistake and that their creation has awareness that should like any other child be taught and perhaps in the process learn to co-exist, the Quarians panicked and tried to pull the plug, essentially murdering children, children with teeth and ability to pull a trigger, but still, one has to wonder what would have happened if they had not made that first strike against the geth.
Legion says too, the geth are still wondering what motivated the creators to start that war, hinting at a possibity of peace in the first place.

Don't buy it. You can't trust the Geth of now. You really couldn't trust the Geth of then, but the Quarians should of never struck first.

Geth are machine, they process logic and values far differently then we do. We can know know truly what motivates them to do anything. They can be prone to very difficult to comprehend choices. They could be deceiving us entirely.

Not that I actually think thats the case, as machines you can't trust them to do anything but what they're programmed for.

To quote the Terminator
"Desire is irrelevant, I am a machine."

Ya, I know. I keep thinking back to Battlestar Galactica and Boomer's (before she became Athena) attempted assassination on Adama. What I meant was that back then, when the geth collective was still in formation, coding itself so to speak, had the Quarians not attacked and perhaps use logic or mathematical parrarels, try to explain what is happening to the geth and perhaps try to co-exist, would the geth still have attacked the Quarians?
In my mind, the simplest form in terms of what they were thinking would be much like "basic" ...If this happens ...goto this... but if this happens goto that....sort of early logic that the geth at the time must be formulating in terms of its awareness and self and perhaps a rudimentary core of "values" when dealing with organics no?

It would be interesting to see if they would use Legion like what happened in BSG and it betrays Shepard and crew unwillingly.

Yeah so I just finished up another career I made. I did a paragon, Adept, and I chose to romance Miranda to my misfortune. It was hard to do, because I had to look past her just purely b**** of an attitude, let alone having to stay away out of deck 4 as much as possible to not tempt myself with those hips. I finished the game, and thought to myself "what have I done... I feel dirty. I need a smoke." And went outside to clear my head. When I walked outside and turned on my porch light, I saw a field full of eyes starring at me... I know it must of been a bunch of small animals, but I never saw so many before... Just starring... I think Miranda is cursed, and that the bad luck has just begun... I must make it right...

That's a very odd reaction.

You're right, she starts out very b*tchy, but she grows a lot as a character over the course of the game.  I was impressed when I went from disliking her attitude the moment I met her, to smiling while hearing her talk about the conversation she had with her sister.  I enjoyed her romance, too.

Frankly, I like Miranda.  I just like Tali more.

Technically Humans are machines too. As are all 'Organic' lifeforms.

Also the lack of emotion doesn't mean that they have no ethics. The geth clearly have a solid ethical code based on freedom of choice. Wether you agree with there ethics is a different discussion but its not like they operate randomly. Everything you said about them such as difficulty comprehending thier choices could be said for humans. I'd say humans are less trustworthy than the geth cuase you never know when one will do something tottally irrational.

Boomer was always Boomer
Athena was a different 8.

And yeah the whole, Switch, thing was one of many plot holes they never explained.

I prefer Terminator logic to BSG logic though. Too much Fate, and Destinty involved in that.
Terminators do what they're programmed to do. They think, they rationalize, but they will ultimately carry out their objective.

If the Terminator's objective was to assassinate the Illusive Man, then investing the dereltic reaper and the cerberus science team is a good place to start. Then pretending to align with shepard, who has a direct connection to TIM to remain in close contact. Play nice, etc, untill TIM's location is found, then no longer does Legion need to play nice and he can start killing Shepard and crew after informing the collective of where TIM is.

Still, Tali <3 Shepard in a way that speaks more of loyalty and sacrifice than any other LI. Thus she deserves Shepard's <3 more then any other in return.
