Sorry, but that isn't mechanical power at all. What you are saying is that organic beings are analogous to machines but to say they are actually machines themselves contradicts both academic definitions as well as "dictionary definitions."
I do agree that they are analogous but they aren't the same at all.
Dictionary Definition:
"an apparatus (body) consisting of interrelated parts with separate functions (cells, organs, systems), used in the performance of some kind of work (life)"
Random House Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2010. Quotes added for relavance.
But wait there more
"An intricate natural system or organism, such as the human body."

Edit: pic snip
Not sure what word you're using there but I can't find anything that supports that:
Princeton defines "machine" as such:
S: (n) machine (any mechanical or electrical
device that transmits or modifies energy to perform or assist in the
performance of human tasks)
http://wordnetweb.pr...webwn?s=machine
machine was the word - sources cited. If you cant find its cuase your not looking.
Also in -ahem- "acadamia" The word organic means
Relating to chemical compounds containing carbon, especially hydrocarbons.

And yes in biologist I can firmly say that the human body is considered an orgainc (read above) machine.
It's not magic
XFD. You are seriously trying to tell me that the "academic definition" of organic is coming from a dictionary?
Dictionaries are written by lexicographers, not scientists. You're going to have to go find some real research if you want to get definitions from the disciplines.
Its a scientific dictionary if you bothered to read.
Even national geographic disagrees with you, not a scientific journal but certainly more credible than anything you bothered to cite
