It's got to the point where this thread has just got me to stop caring about what happens to it. You won't get any more off-topic rants from me. I'm just gonna do what should always be done in this thread. Talk about Tali. I'm just gonna do what Jake says and ignore everyones BS.
Quite frankly, none of that matters. The number of on-topic Tali posts in the combined 4000 pages of thread far outnumbers that of every other "I love X Character" thread put together.antilles333 wrote...
Would you like me to find the pages where there was nothing but discussion about the phallus size of KFD? Or the "quote the quote the quote wall" that was made in order to purposely quote wall the thread, by it's common posters at that.
No, it isn't.These are all things Bioware will see and wonder if the credibility from our thread is legitimate or not.

Don't forget that this is Tali-fan territory. You don't see as many Miranda or Jack supporters in here.

In case you haven't noticed this thread has broken all the rules...and in response it gets stickied and then stamped with the Bioware logo. I really don't think we should be so stressing out about it.antilles333 wrote...

I won't talk about the Jack posting because once someone mentions her to Jake, he goes on and on about Jack. Though the Miranda supporters have been quite nice to this thread, as they post, or used to post, quite a bit in this thread.
Any thread can be shut down, for inappropriate reasons or not. Doesn't matter if there are hundreds of fans. Just saying, even when the OP gives up on the thread, it just shows what it's become. Sorry :\\\\.

I agree with you! Very intelligent post. It's a rather interesting topic. I can see why Tali may have been really shy to reveal her feelings to Shepard. Thankfully, we are able to show that we feel the sameXandurpein wrote...
Since I do sometimes enjoy reading and pondering about fanfiction and such I sometimes wonder about how Quarians would act in various situations. How would a romance with a Quarian be different from a romance with a human. This is really just random thoughts on the subject. I am posting to see if anyone agrees or disagrees with my line of reasoning.
For hundreds of years Quarians have hidden their faces. With humans nothing our faces communicate a lot of our body language. In quarian culture you would normally not search the persons face for clues to body language. This made me wonder if one of the reasons it takes so long for Shepard to catch on to Tali's feelings is that she may never seek eye contact with him. Eye contact is important for establishing intimacy between humans, but may be meaningless to a Quarian. A Quarian would look for signs of body language in posture rather than a face plate.
For a quarian to show her face is an act of very deep intimacy. The reasons are medical, but it would also get a cultural meaning. To a Quarian getting used to the other races would be as for a human trying to get used to walking in a nudist camp. Tali would be used to this, especially with other races, but when she does begin to get feelings for Shepard, maybe it would be a source of embarassment to have Shepard 'flaunting' his face openly. Could possibly be something to explore in a story.
Casual sex would be something unheard of in Quarian society. Sex, or any physical intimacy at all really, even between two Quarians is a result of careful planning. Since Quarians seems as prone to developing romantic feelings as humans, I suppose Quarians would be more prone to platonic romances. Space is limited on the flotilla and it's possible that Quarians are used to retreat to an inner self. A Quarian, even a mature one, might therefore be prone to hide her feelings, rather than act upon them, like Tali does.
Hmm, I don't believe we have any information upon the importance of marriage and children for the Quarians. As it appears currently, the Migrant Fleet is crowded and they do not appear to be wanting of children. Tali knew that having children with Shepard would be impossible going into the relationship, so I don't see her as leaving Shepard to have children...not that I see her as caring to have them in the first place. She cares about her people, but she wouldn't do anything for them, and she often disagrees with the government.I was also wondering if the thight control of births together with other aspects of Quarian society I mused over above would not lead to a sort of society where marriage would be brokered by families rather than individual choices. This could be a possible problem for Tali/Shepard. Shepard is a Hero, but he is also depriving Tali's family and clan of a baby for future genrations.

I think the first thing that Lareit stated as he waltzed into the thread was that he was going to "correct every mistake" that people make while posting. At least that's what my vague memory was.

Sorrow is always in Steam chat (though he's been kind of sick lately), with our discussions about Tali.
