Hm. Yet if you make stuff up and it isn't correct wouldn't that amount to the same overall effect as if you had been lied to had you asked? In which case, asides from potentially negatively affecting your perception of the person that lied to you, what has been lost or gained by not asking? Also, if you make up stuff and it turns out to be incorrect you may end up being viewed negatively by the person you made stuff up about, so then you become the "bad guy".

Perhaps it easier on both yourself and possibly the other person just to be forthright with yourself and in your dealings with others. This does not equate with automatically showing the other person all the cards you have on hand; one can tell the perceived truth without telling the whole truth after all.

Ah, but see, making assumptions can be done privately, and any subsequent revelation can be absorbed (or discarded, if deception is suspected) privately, without the other person ever knowing.

I remember reading here from someone that the Geth that attacked Haestrom are the true Geth. While I understand it is in Geth Space. What would be the point of taking the planet back if they don't use it?

So enemies don't build bases in Geth territory?

I thought he said most geth live in space stations... And that they're just tending the planet... As for why they would take it over, they were defending themselves, not their fault Quarians attacked...

Legion tells Tali  (if you take him to recruit her) that they currently are in no conflicts with the Quarians. Not that the team was even building a base as they were just gathering information. Not to mention the star is dying, the Geth should know, and thus realize the planet itself is degrading in it's value.

Don't they have a serious presence in that system, some kind of massive space dock (Hell's Hive?)?  Were I (heretic) geth, I'd kill any quarians or other organics on general principle that I don't want my enemies mucking about in my territory.
