Too bad Quarians don't have hair, would really interesting to see Tali's hairstyle. Wait....who know, perhaps they evolved to the point where they are now growing hair??

It was never stated that they don't have hair...

Are you sure? I thuoght it was mentioned somewhere in the codex? Interesting.... :o

Nope, still speculation at this point ;)

The codex does say that they are analogous to mammals, and one of the main features of mammals is hair so.....
draw your own conclusions from that

Tali appears to have eyebrows. That makes hair and even eyelashes a definite possibility.

And do you think the quarians would just ignore it if a geth ship suddenly appeared in the flotilla to do some studying?

yeah, because that's the same thing as a science team on some backwater planet studying a dying star.

Pretty much, yes. That planet is in geth space, the quarians have no business there. If I were a geth I'd have thought they were up to no good and sent in troops to take them out, too.

then i assume when you see someone walking up to your door you assume they are there to rob you and shoot them?

No, but when I wake up and find them rummaging around my house then yes. furthermore when someone comes to your door they ask to enter which the quarians did not.

Also the geth were heretic geth and they don't need a reason to kill them since they are under the belief that all organics must die.

If those people had already tried to rob and kill me before, yes.

Also, let's just have the same situation with different species and you decide what the most logical response is:

A batarian ship drops off a bunch of batarians on, let's say, Venus. They didn't tell the humans they were coming.

What would the humans do?

i wouldn't do anything because those batarians would be dead... venus sucks man. but seriously you try to communicate and see what theyre up to. you don't start out with dropping in and blowing them all away...

Maybe indoctrination is just a focused amount of dark energy to someones mind. Corrupts it yeah. What would happened if you focused that on a star?

What would heretic Geth be doing in Geth space (Sounds stupid, but read on)? Legion himself said that the Heretic Geth reside and operate outside of Geth space.

Though it is quite possible that there could still be heretic Geth operating in True Geth space?

Wha...?

My hope is that having helped Tali with her pilgrimage will bear fruit in ME3.  After all, her information was all about Geth evolution over the past hundreds of years.  It may very well reveal much of what Legion told you, once they decipher it (which Tali said would take years at the time you gave it to her).

Exactly. Though the information you received on the Geth came from the Heretic Geth, who COULD have evolved differently from that of regular geth.   But I would've loved to have Legion explain the war, though I don't think that the Geth are capable of lying, which would've thrown out any form of distrust about the Geth lying. Though if I'm wrong about the lying part, please correct me.

Well, I think that the little tooltip mentioned that the data provided information on the evolution of the Geth since the Quarians left.  In this case it would include information about the divide between the Heretics and the Geth collective, as well as information from before that happened.  I don't believe that the Heretic split-off was terribly long ago, either -- it would have happened only around the time that Sovereign had contacted Saren, which is probably not too long before the events of ME1.

I might also point out that when you go to the Geth base to gather the data, it specifically mentions a transmission of a Quarian singing being broadcast in from behind the veil.  The Heretics split off from the Geth and differentiated from them, but they are probably still the same in many other ways, apparently including a fascination, or even reverence, for their creators .  The only real difference, at least at first, was that they worshipped Sovereign.

My theory is that the sun on Haestrom is dying because of the Reapers.  I think the Reapers must have done something to different suns in the galaxy as part of their extinction plan.  After they wiped out the Protheans, i think they did this as a backup plan in case they were delayed getting back in the galaxy.  I think the Reapers are the only ones capable of doing this, and isnt it a little suspicious that the sun is dying around the time the Reapers are due to arrive.

They did at one point. I don't think the Geth have old hatreds to overcome. The Quarians do. As much as you may dislike Korris, you may have to end up amplifying his voice of reason for being an apologist. Though that might ****** off Gerrell...and..........well. I don't want to think of something similar to the Harrowmount/Belen situation from Dragon Age.

It's true that they did coexist at one point but we all know what happened once the Geth started becoming really clever. Both the Geth and Quarians have changed during the last 300 years, although this is less obvious with the Quarians, so there is always a possibility of peace between them. That being said if they are going to coexist they must first understand eachothers, else they would never truly be able to build a joint government/alliance.

Regardless; I'm hoping for an epic quest-chain, in ME3,that challenge the player's diplomacy skills, where choices and variables from ME2 will play an important part.

on the event horizon of a black hole--the exact surface of the Schwarzchild radius--time stops. the surface of a black hole has the frozen image of the parent star just as it went into singularity. You can't see it because there is no light...

...gave me a sucky image of how ME3 will end... Tali and Shepard reaching for each other, frozen in time...

Well, it's clear that we are not the first race who crushed their plans ^_^ They probably have a lot of "Plans B" Collectors and Saren were the first ones.

True. THough let me put it from this with bullet points. It's the only way I can describe it to myself..
  • Sovereign discovers Saren
  • They make out
  • Saren finds, or reaches out to the Geth
  • Some Geth believe Saren and some don't.
  • Wouldn't those Geth have evolved completely different if a small percentage (five I believe) to believe the ideas of the Machine Gods?
Bullet points make me happy. =]
