I agree, Tali getting kidnapped and being on a timer to save her would be a horror mission. You might fail and lose her. That would be... Traumatic

If you dont get her in time it will just expand and you will have to choose to go after her or something else like saving a colony, someone should send this to them! They will do it most likely and it would be a real story breaker, but you cant just say Tali its any LI.

Liara - The Green Lady from Star Trek

I would not worry too much about that. 
Essentially it just means that there may be interest but nothing concrete yet. 
Big wigs at EA / Bioware should also after looking at movie trends where game > movie transitions don't really make it big on the box office, and also considering the those who did not even make it to the screen *cough* Halo *cough* would be quite weary on putting down a few hundred million to make a "good" movie. 

To put into perspective the cost for making the Lord of the Rings Trilogy was roughly around US$300 mil, and I cannot see the ME universe / story be told in less then a three parter. 
Well, maybe the battle of Elysium might be a one parter 2-3+ hour movie anything shorter and I think too many things would be left out and leave the "general" audience going "WTF did I pay for this?"

the barret only needs a standar level two gun license, its a normal rifle, it just hugely awesome (and can take out an airplane)
