import, that is. If she lives, she MUST remain a squad member, and if
you romanced her, she MUST remained romanced in ME3. Wouldn't that be
amazing, stepping into ME3 with an already romanced Tali, and having a
full on romance experience throughout the ENTIRE game and not just
before the last mission?"

This.

I agree without hesitation or reservation. I was disappointed Tali wasn't a romance choice in ME; I was thrilled when she was an LI in ME2, and I was pissed off when we didn't get to see her face. I was shocked and heartbroken when she died in my third playthrough. But if she lives in an ME2 playthrough, she MUST appear in ME3.

I also agree that if she dies in an ME2 playthrough, then she MUST remain dead in ME3. Period. Dot. The ME2 mission is a suicide mission: one of the key goals in the game is to make decisions that'll keep your team members alive. Everyone survived on my first and second playthroughs, but in subsequent games I purposely tried to kill off team members. In one, I tried to kill off as many as I possibly could.

To maintain the RP integrity of ME and ME2, then those characters that die are dead. Forever. No Deus Ex Machina to resurrect them, a la Shepard. It's reasonable to assume Cerberus would spend 4 billion credits to resurrect the person who killed a Reaper--with small arms fire. It's unreasonable to assume that it (or any other entity) would bring back a skilled and charming engineer, no matter how sweet and capable she was.

If Tali's dead, she's dead.

Agreed, but if someone considers Tali to integral to their gaming experience, why would they bother letting her die in ME2?

but shepard can die too you knowImage IPB

Yes.

For instance, in the first playthrough I romanced Tali (of course).  In that 3rd playthrough I romanced Jack.  She and Legion were the only two characters who were loyal to Shepard.  I thought, "Cool, I'll go into ME3 with the psycho-biotic on my arm.  Because she's loyal, and she's the LI, she won't die."  I was wrong.  She died.  Along with five other characters, including Tali.  I was blown away.  And now both are dead, for that import.  Dammit all to hell.  So that's what I mean.

But you can't play ME3 with a save where Shepard diesImage IPB

So, how does this makes it any more valid than when for me, on my first playthrough I had everyone alive, including my Normandy crew? By luck, or pure coincidence, I made the right choices, did not do the IFF quest till I had all other companions and done their loyalty quests and made the right choices during the suicide run? All because I went with my own gut feelings and no, I did not come to the forums till after I have played through the game twice.
So wouldn't *my* playthrough where even though I romanced Ashley, then Mirranda but dropped everything for Tali and then got everyone out alive is any less then someone who got Tali killed?

To me, that first playthrough was magic, I worked really hard and agonised over whom to sent into the shaft, whom to lead fearing that a mistake would cost the lives of my companions. I got everyone out alive on my first run, without cheats, hints or looking up the forums and I'll be damned if someone tells me that Tali should be dead, because as far as I am concerned, my Tali lived.

Now here is the thing, for the purist, who thinks that the first run should count, and your Tali dies. Fine. But don't belittle those who didn't make it the first time round, That's what the save games are for. Just like I prefer to play on hardcore or insanity mode, that is my choice, and I don't think less of those who play on casual mode. Its their game after all.
If someone wants to go back to ME1 and replay their game so that they start ME2 without an LI, that's their choice too. To each their own I say. Play your game, let others play theirs.

hmm... i went into one (trying to get shepard killed) with only tali loyal because i wanted to bring legion to the migrant fleet. after several tries i got him killed and finished off with a run where only tali and garrus were left. my two ME guys and myself rocking it in ME3

I'm surprised how many people have runs where they try to get Shepard killed off. I've never even thought about doing it. Maybe I'm too connected to the characters or something, I just wouldn't get any enjoyment at all out of watching them die. To each their own I guess, its just surprising to me.

God, the CGI looked amazing back then, now it looks as good as if were drawn on paper and they asked you to stare at it for 2 hours.

I agree. If they decide to keep her faceless in ME3, I'd understand.
