Grunt: Anyone else hungry? No?
Jack: Ugh. And they call me twisted.

I asked this b4 in the Tali fan club forum but I'm curious if anyone else has opinions.
Perhaps for ME3 players could be given the option of equipping a transparent face mask for Tali, thus enabling us to see her face.
I realize bioware could probably explain this away by saying the tint is necessary to sheild their probably pale skin from harsh natural light. One response I saw was that the revealing of the face for Quarians is a sign of ultimate trust and/or intimacy and therefore no transparent face masks would be available.
Thoughts?
nah keep it tinted i rather see it with out the mask in the way and like you said ultimate sign of trust/initimacy not really meant for everyone to see
only shepard
The trust/intimacy argument is sound, however, in the conversations I can remember with Tali and her talking about the suits, I only remember her saying that "linking suit environments" is a big sign of trust. Not to mention that they (Quarians) have only been wearing these suits for about 300 years, most cultures that develop strong values like that have practiced them for much longer.

Do I smell a Mass Effect mod? This may be a reason to play Fallout 3 (because I got bored of the game after I left the vault)Driving Ghost wrote...

Ah, but their internal economy is almost communistic. Anything they don't need, they just leave in a public place for someone who does want it.
Socialism is state-controlled. Giving stuff away doesn't seem to require the involvement of the state.

But that's the "personal" economy. I imagine there are strict controls on fleet resources like spare parts, food, and fuel. They probably operate almost like a military on some level.

Since she makes a point of saying she's never shown her face to anyone, I think it's likely that the tint has more significance than pure practicality.
yea but you get my point

Good edit, DG. I was just about to fire something back about making assumptions.
Real world problems with ANY economic systems aren't the point (and they all got them), we're just talking quarians here.

Communism is a good thing. No government is even remotely communist. They've corrupted it's meaning.
Just like Americans aren't Democratic. America is firmly a republic.

They do.
In the Mass Effect Acension novel they explain that any parts can be left and picked up by anyone but important resources like weapons, antibiotics and really important resources are monitored due to limited number.
And since they are in a fleet and have little to no external nor internal economy it seems more a commensal living, where everyone helps everyone else...
Which is why we love Tali so much!!!!!!

It's a complex mix, I'm sure. They probably wouldn't call it anything at all. It's survival, not ideology to them.

Ok getting back to Quarians... What kind of enviroment do you think they are looking for on a world? Ive been mining around and I've found habitable worlds. Are they looking for a specific ecosystem? And when they do find it, how will they adapt themselves to not need the suits?
They're looking for their homeworld.
I know it sounds cheap, but according to Tali, it will suit their system the best.

Considering they were willing to try to make it work on a small planet, with heavy gravity, that only had a narrow strip around the equator that was truly habitable....I'd say they're not terribly picky.
Genetic alteration is a fairly common procedure in the ME universe. Even the alliance has it's soldiers undergo it as a mandatory treatment to maximize potential. The quarians would begin to genetic adapt their bodies to not react so negatively to the foreign elements of their world.
