So I'm lurking the other forums when I stop by the Liara thread to see them discussing the LI interaction when the Normandy gets grounded and Shepard and the LI have a close moment, and they are going on about how that was the most heart-warming scene ever.



I'm not here to bash on their opinion, but it made me go "Wait. Tali's loyalty mission. The Hug. The HUG heard through the galaxy? How does anything compare emotionally to the hug Shepard gave Tali? I mean really. I'm a grown adult male and I sat back and went "wow..."

Nothing about ME1 was emotional and heartfelt.  ME2 was so much better at being emotional that they shouldn't even be compared.  There are at least 10 scenes more emotional in ME2 than the most emotional one in ME1 (Which I would personally vote is the Virmire choice.)

1. Tali's Hug in ME2
2. Vimire ME
3. Tali learning that her father is dead (Perhaps technicly a part of 1)
4. Watching the video where a guy gave the the info from allari (I mean, DAMN)
5. Placing the Normady SR1 memorial. (It landed next to pressley's journal for me.)

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but ME2 definitely had more moments than ME1 did.

It was hyperbole, but personally nothing about ME1 made me feel all tingly or anything.  I loved it for the immersive and well thought out universe.  Not an attachment to any of the characters or anything.  If ME1 was a standalone game, and everyone died at the end, I wouldn't have felt a fraction as bad as if they killed off Tali now.
