That doesn't make any sense as a motivation to me.

If Wrex knows of the Reaper threat, the more logical thing for him to do would be to try and bring together ALL Krogan to fight the enemy, not just join Shepard himself.  That's why he is a leader, after all, and that's why I am of the opinion that Wrex will be an important character, but not a teammate.  I think that your actions in the past 2 games will help you win the support of other races to help in the battle, and saving Wrex is a big step towards gaining the Krogan's support.

Got a question for you all. I may get a lot of flak for this but I think it begs questioning. Would it have been better if the relationship between Tali an Shep stayed sort of "platonic" (apologies if im using the term incorrectly). Wouldn't it be more fulfilling than just a quick one night stand? What you think?

Agree with HK01. Definately not a one night stand. Shepard is clear in desire for more than just one night. To answer kernel of question. Relationship good as platonic. Better as love interest. Want to see this:

Catching Xen with plans to disrupt  a planed geth/quarian peace deal and taking her out with an AR to the back of the head?

I always favor leaving an opponent 'crippled' but alive to stew in their FAILURE over killing them.

That's actually the reason why I'm retroactively happy that Tali wasn't an LI in ME1.  Those all came across as flings/one night stands to me.  What Tali and Shep have now is a lot deeper than that.  Whether or not they have sex (a little late for that either way,) isn't really important to the overall relationship.

Why kill her, when the *worst* thing you can do to a Quarian is to have her exiled and have her name stripped out of all fleet manifests?

Kill her and *then* strip her name from the records. Much more effective. If you just kill her, she lives on in memory. Tell her that she will be stricken from the records and *then* kill her. Very good renegade option. lol

I don't hate Grunt, personally.  He's just boring.  He hasn't had time to live and to get a personality, so the only 'personality' he has is "I'm a Krogan and I like killing stuff".

*snip*

I still like Ashley even after ME2. I'll definitly go with Tali on my 'canon' play of ME3, but I think I'll play ME3 at least once exploring how it will turn out if you romance Ashley. Tali totally swept me off my feet. But I really don't think that those who are upset with Ashley's decision not to follow Shepard understands what it means to be an officer in the armed forces. Ashley can't just go AWOL in the middle of a military mission and become a deserter, whatever she feels for Shepard. At least not if she has the strong feelings for the Alliance armed forces she has, it would be totally out of character.

To clarify, I don't mind her not coming with me as much as her blatantly believing propaganda over the person she loves.  There was plenty of oppurtunity to make Ashley still care about you, only not be able to follow you because of a commitment to the Alliance.  Remember, Tali doesn't come with you immediately either.  I would have been just fine with that, and would feel a lot more conflicted going into ME3.  (Would still be Tali 110% of the time, but I wouldn't feel as guilt free.)

Uhh, the dead *won't care* what happens after. Whether you tell her before or after your intent to strip her name off the records.
The whole point of punishing her with exile is that she'll have lots of time to think about and as someone else said, stew in her own failure. Having her name stricken from the records and then killing her is pretty useless as a means of making the other person suffer for thier misdeeds as once you are dead, all thoughts and regrets end.

But that is the very reason that it is important for Wrex to stay.  I mean, the whole point of him being on Tuchanka is that he has a plan to unite the clans ... and it's working.

That's what I think Wrex's whole purpose to the story is -- to become the leader and unite the Krogan clans, giving Shepard the ability to call on the united Krogan people for the battle against the Reapers.  He can't unite the clans if he goes traipsing off with Shepard, and then the Krogan won't be able to come together effectively to fight the enemy.

I don't blame Ashley for not resigning her commission and joining 'me'/Cerebus.

I blame her for treating 'me' like a TRAITOR.  For not trusting my judgement (which served pretty damn well in the past).  For ASSUMING I'd been 'brainwashed' because I had a different opinion than hers.

'Bye, Ash!  You can choke on that self-righteousness.
