I genuinely liked liara in ME1, although not as much as Tali, and I would feel sorry for liara if she hadn't blown me  off for petty revenge. Not to mention her attitude has tottally changed, and she has really become very cold hearted which I do not find very attractive

I rather want Tali to win since Liara changed so much. She somewhat of thug now.

She isn't a thug, she is just angry.  Mostly because of what happened to you.
I won't cheat on Liara.  I have one playthrough where I stay true to her as my LI (my first playthrough), and another with Tali as my LI that had no previous romances.  I had to play through ME1 again once I played ME2 and found out that Tali likes you

..BTW, I hate how hard they make it in ME1 to NOT romance someone without being an A-Hole

My problem with Ash in ME2 is not so much how she just went "you are with cerberus!....traitor!"
But when confronted with the Collector threat she had the idiocy to try and pin it on Ceberus. I was like "Helllooooo?! Me and a few people from Cerberus just killed a few fracking truckload of those things, recalibrated your damned defense systems and fracking damn just saved *half* the colony, including you, you ungrateful b*tch!"

Her letter later did however pacified me a little. But too little, too late.

Sorry to dredge this up from pages back, but this is exactly what I did.  While shedding a manly tear for Pressly.

Any emotion for me from that mission was ruined by how badly it was implemented.  20 minutes walking around in a boring silent area collecting tags of names of people who you never saw on the first Normandy.  They should have made you bring Tali and Garrus, and had Joker and Chakwas around for interactions as well.  They could have made it a lot more emotional.  Massively dropped the ball IMO.

Maybe I was more willing to accept what I was given.  I was expecting to take the "old crew" with me, too, and specifically saved the mission for when I could.  However, I was actually deeply affected by the silence and loneliness of the location.  My further thoughts can be found here in fanfic form. (sorry to pimp myself)

Everyone else has had two years to come to grips with the loss of the first Normandy.  It's still an open (and some might say fatal) wound for Shep.

That's actually the reason why I'm retroactively happy that Tali wasn't an LI in ME1.  Those all came across as flings/one night stands to me.  What Tali and Shep have now is a lot deeper than that.  Whether or not they have sex (a little late for that either way,) isn't really important to the overall relationship.

I think there are  reasons why sex in a way is the focus of Tali's romance in ME2. It's a lot more than just sex involved really. Tali is at first  more or less resigned to never have a chance of ever getting her hearts desire because she is trapped in her suit. It is so important to Tali then that Shepard shows her he is willing to put up with all the problems involved to be with her also physically, and at least briefly let her escape the prison of her suit.

I definitely agree that sex is a lot bigger deal in that relationship than any of the others.  That said, if Tali didn't find a way before the ending of ME2, I don't feel like there relationship would be any different.  They would still care about each other just as much.

I agree very much. My point was simply to point out that even if you could technically read the romance with Tali as simply being a case of trying to get into bed, it's in reality so much more involved. The important thing isn't that they have sex, but that Shepard is willing to try and make their relationship work, also physically.

We find this an appropriate reference, suggesting that organic gets un-well easily, like Creator-Tali'Zorah.
