A good point. But bioluminescense would make her blind right?Geth Hunter Alpha wrote...
Furthermore reflective membrane only noticable if looking directly into eyes such as cats, when they turn away effect is not visible. This is not the case for tali as eyes are always 'lit'. Evidence points to bioluminescense or some type of mechanical implants. And i can't seem to beleive that every single quarian has the same implants.
No biolum would not blind you, biolum is usually notabley less than even a 60 watt bulb and you dont go blind when you see that. I would also point out that many earth creatures use biolum to see and biolum cells are often found near or in the 'eyes' or similar structure.
All Tali fans, read this! IT'S UP TO US TO KEEP TALI ALIVE! 3.0!!

Perhaps Biolum theory needs rewriting. Provide examples of earth-based life using method?

I mean projecting light inside the mask for better view, and i dont think it would be hard for them to see at all with the masks off. I think the masks make it easier to see while they are on because the masks themselves make it hard to see so its a counter measure.alickar wrote...

I still think that her mask has to serve more than the mere purpose of shielding her face. Quarians all live in suits so the masks must have some type of digital interface in there that identifies other Quarians and objects for them. I Think its that same program that makes her eyes glow for better viewing, or at least it could be projecting light in that are. what do you guys think?

Try putting your eyeball right next to a 25-watt bulb when it is turned on and see how much you can see.Geth Hunter Alpha wrote...

Can you provide any examples of animals that produce bioluminescence within their eye structures?I would also point out that many earth creatures use biolum to see and biolum cells are often found near or in the 'eyes' or similar structure.
Because I honestly can't think of any. Illumination for sight is not a typical use of bioluminescence. One of the only exceptions I know of is a deep sea fish that produces red luminescence to see in the dark ocean waters, and it doesn't produce it within their eyes.

since tali mask has dark purple blocks off most light make it eaiser to no barly any glare from light also light going in eyes would make it harder to seeHipHop402 wrote...

Hell, Quarians are mammals, and it seems to me that (on Earth anyway) more mammals have them than not.

Just like in real life after being under light our eyes adjust i doubt quarians lack this ability besides that im not saying light is literally projected directly into her eyes that would blind her of course, what im saying is light patches or lighter areas of the mask are focused around the area she happens to be looking in for better visual. I Highly doubt we can see everything going on inside there.alickar wrote...

Wasn't it brought up like a page ago? It's the reflective layer behind the retina, that gives animals like dogs/cats better night vision than humans. It's why their eyes glow when light hits them.
