Having a light on your body, even near your eye, is vastly different from having a light emitting organ inside your eye.

Thank you very much.  I do prefer this version of all the ones that have been posted so far.  Gives it a more alien feel, while not changing the overall impression of her face.:)

No prob; gave me something to do for a little bit ;)

I'm positive that her eyes aren't synthetic. *Every* quarian has glowing eyes. Why would they implant synthetic eyes for every Quarian? How could they spend the resources for that? All their eyes should be fine, their sun is nearly identical to our own, just a bit older.

Actually I was suggesting that visible light is not the only light available for sight.

Light duality doesn't suggest that.  In fact, light's wave nature is largely irrelevant unless the light is extremely monochromatic, or when passing through extremely narrow apertures, or through mediums with high refractive indexes.

Basically, if the light is not hitting the cat, it isn't hitting the cat's eyes either.  Obvious conclusion is obvious: It is dark at the bottom of the stairs, therefore there is little light.

Wave nature relevent as it is wavelenght that determins what part of spectrum light falls into. Visible light only very very small portion of light wave spectrum. Particle nature makes light diffuse otherwise it would be pitch black at bottom of steps which it clearly is not as i can easily see objects beside the cat as well as the cat itself.

We agree. We stick to our theory of tapetum lucidium.

One should also note that quarians are aliens. Biology that applies to creatures on Earth won't necesarrily apply to aliens.

I am willing to believe that their eyes naturally glow.

Your skin would be slimy too if you spent most of your life in a suit.
