The model count is impressively high but the lighting could use a lot of work and so could the shaders. I think Mass Effect is looking fine as is. You let me know when we have technology to make games look like the pre-rendered Mass Effect 2 trailers and I will singlehandedly attempt to buy the rights for a remake of the trilogy.

True. I overstated, but I think the gist is correct - you'll get Ashley/Kaiden and Liara back and they'll give you two squaddies to choose from regardless of how many ME2 characters survived. I expect them to voice all the ME2 characters and simply not present them if they were killed. I don't expect any brand new characters. That'll present the 'consequences' of getting your crew killed without making the game unwinnable.Phil725 wrote...

Personally, I think it'd be idiocy on Bioware's part to write all of the characters out and introduce an all-new cast for the finale of a trilogy. Not only would 80% of the fanbase march up to Canada and riot, but it would completely contradict all the time you spent recruiting and getting to know "the best of the best."
You can't kill off everyone. You need 2 people alive I think (may be one,) or else Shepard dies and you can't import into ME3.
That's my guess, anyway.

Yeah, EA isn't nearly as "evil" as they once seemed.
I don't really have a problem with them publishing BioWare's stuff. It seems to me that they give BioWare complete--or very close to complete--control over their projects.
It's an absolutely beautiful thing when a talented development studio has access to tons of financial resources, while at the same time keeping complete creative control. Some notable examples of this would be Valve and Blizzard.
Sorry had to come back to say that blizzard sold out to the devil long ago after the success of WoW. They are now part of activision, and are one of the worst examples of what happens to good developers when they get rich. WoW completely massacred the story of Warcraft and the new Starcraft instalments (yes pluaral) further points to thier greed as a major motivating factor.
blizzard is fine. People are still getting mad over the installments? Every major new RTS game has expansions. They're big money and it'd be stupid if Blizzard didn't offer them. You don't need them, they're mostly singleplayer anwyays. They just add a few new units to the multiplayer.
Why should I get screwed out of campaign content, just because YOU don't want it. Don't want to sink more money into the game, fine, dont buy it. Sorry that was OT, but it makes me nerdrage when I see people talk down SC2 expansions.
It's not an expansion when it cost as much as the game itself. Theyre just money grubbin. Just like they did with WoW. Story is important to me, thats one of the reasons I love ME. Blizz butchered warcraft and there selling out with SC too. the story in SC might still be good but they are certainly milking it for every penny. They don't care anything about thier fans anymore. thier in it for the money.

Are you kidding? I've drawn better in MS Paint.
...I mean, I KNOW! That artist is bloody talented... like... wow! I love the subtle hints of cybernetic augmentation, it's perfect. Only nitpick is that I kinda want quarians to have a unique alien skintone, so they won't be AS human-like, you know? But if Tali was reveal her face and she looked like that, I'd be UBER happy.

They could add 1 or 2 new characters just to bring the minimum squad up to the same amount as ME1. Even if they didn't though, 4 or 5 squad mates is plenty. A lot less work than writing in an entire new team. I think that's easily the most likely path for Bioware to take.

They haven't said anything about pricing yet, but I really doubt they're going to try to sell people another $50 campaign addon. And if they do, I'll eat my words. Until then, there is no reason to think they will.

Given current technology yes (although Blu-Ray can store up to 50 GB of date vs. 8 or so GB of data a DVD can store), but with the PC what happens is that you install all the discs and then only need one disc (usually the first disc) to play the game. Easy as pie.
