Bioluminisence doesn't make any sense at all, knowing how Eyes actually work. Glowing eyes would probably blind the one who tries to see with them.

Cat eyeshine seems more probable. More like "reflective-eyes".

Bioluminescence nowhere near power to blind. If is part of eye itself, also possible eyes will not be affected.
Warn against using word "Impossible." Limits possibility for growth of knowledge and finding solutions.

I'd like to see her face, but only if it IS "her" face as designed by the artists who created her.

I DON'T want to see a face created by committee (and I don't expect Bioware to present one).

So, it's either - show the face they intended and anger some portion of their audience, or  - leave it to imagination and anger another portion of their audience.  (With probably a good amount of overlap between the groups...)

It's a tough choice, but they can handle it.

Agreed.

Image in message is this one, in case you haven't seen it. Everyone seems to like it, or at the very least, not hate it. Obviously it might not be your ideal tali, but overall, it seems to have pleased the most people.

Then let me go on record as stating that I don't like that pic of Tali.

"Hate" is a strong concept and one I try not to use lightly.

I'm a little on the fence myself. It's close, I'll definitely give you that, I almost approve (and I haven't seen any other concepts that really strike me as interesting yet) but everytime I look at it, I just can't help thinking she looks really sickly....

I really can't imagine Quarian eyes being cybernetic. Every single quarian has glowing eyes. Why on earth would they all need new eyes? Hell, could they even spare the resources for that, or even risk infection from all the surgery?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if in ME3, it's revealed that there's nothing special about Quarian eyes at all. That the  "glowing eyes" were just a simulation of where the eyes were, generated by the mask.

Now, this would be somewhat of a continuity break, since in the games so far you can clearly see the glow coming from behind the mask. But I have a strong suspicion that the only reason Tali's eyes were made to glow in the first place was so that players had some kind of interpretation of eyes to look at, when talking to her. It's very important for  us to be able to see eyes when we interact with someone, it helps form an emotional bond.

"Riddick?" Unusual. Do not understand reference.

Bioluminescence likely.

Cybernetics also possible, though unlikely all quarians require repair of eyes. Unless serves different purpose. Heads-up-display on status of suit? Possible.

kind of like the cat eyeshine.

Find first...questionable, then. Would require specific light conditions at all times. Facemask still transparent. Cannot always be same without effort. No reason for such effort.
Unless heads-up-display on suit status on mask? Possible...

That's what I thought. Someone said biolumisense wasn't possible because it would render her blind.

for like the bazillionth time,  biolum wouldnt blind you. animals on earth have biolum near thier eyes and furthermore the amount of lumens that would be requried to blind you would make the eyes so bright that it would literally light up the entire mask and the enitrety of the normandy itself. A 60 watt lightbulb can light up a room and Talis eyes arent even close to that level of lumen output but a 60 watt bulb wont even come close to blinding you. Seriuosly

Examples.

I think so.

On a side note, I think that if the biolumenesance were actully patches just under or just over the eyes that might work out.

Well Tali did state that all quarians recieve some sort of cybernetics before they go on thier pilgramage. Of course that could be anything.

Personally, cybernetics is at bottom of list for possibilities.

Suggested here also possible, but with resources limited, would likely wish to use elsewhere. Unless is cultural, developed during years in Migrant Fleet.

Yes, the admirals at Tali's trial have glowing eyes. I imagine the other Quarians do too.

Haha good analogy. I want to see the face...after all we got to see Darth Vader's face in the end. Fair is fair. Perhaps Bioware can put an option in for those that don't want to see it so that it never shows in the game.

No face no cash.

Yes, the admiral in favour of war with the Geth had glowing eyes. That's from the top of my head. I imagine the other Quarians display the same trait.

Kal does as well
