She keeps her fleet flat on the ground and the first joint above her foot bends in the same direction our knees do. Digitigrade animals often appear to have "reverse-hinged" knees because the first joint up from their foot is actually their ankle.

Tali walks flat-footed with her heel on the ground, and is therefore plantigrade with curved bones in her lower leg;)
I do know how digitigrade and plantigrade legs work, just so you know. I always assumed so because the quarian leg structure has a very sharp curve that really does make the legs look digitigrade, that and alot of other races have digitigrad legs. Turains, krogans, salarians, vorcha...

Hm. Well why do Batarians have four eyes when they only need two to see? Why do humans have two eyes when one would suffice pending how strict your requirements for "adequate vision" are?
Perhaps it is like a RAID configuration they can lose any one nostril and keep breathing.

Examples.
Bad example. That creature lives deep in ocean, he varely sees anything. That's their ONLY source of light. Absolutely different to eyes that rely on sun's light. And they don't produce light from their own eyes properly, like quarians seem to do, they just use "lamps" near them, to minimize energy needed.
So, try again.
Furthermore the distance adjescent to the eye isnt enough to reduce the lumenosity of the biolum to any great degree that it would be any less bright if it was in fact directly in the eye. Also there is no reason to assume that quarians didn't evolve to use them in a similar fasion as lamps, or it could just be sexual preference or any number of other possibilities for having biolum.
It's still a bad example.
And it's just not functional. Neither as a lamp (not enought bright) nor as anything. Reflective eyes makes more sense, considering its functionality. That's what I was saying, that it didn't make any sense ( not that it was impossible as someone who quoted me said =/) unless you create out of nowhere some odd argument like sexual preference.
I admit I wasn't accurate saying "probably", i didn't considered the lack of oposition between two sources of light, but anyway, keep the tali love =P
Reflective doesnt make sense within the game mechanics. For starters the light would be going through 3 phases of degredation (in the mask, the reflection in the eye, and out of the mask) which would make it hard to see from the outside. The effects arent dependant on the lighting in the setting, which they would be if it was reflective. The darker it got the harder it would be to see talis eyes as the amount of light being reflected would also decrease. Also the effect would be dependant on whcih way tali was looking and the brightness would only be visible if she was looking at you or in your direction which you can see in game that it does not work that way. Her eyes always glow reguardless of what direction she looks.
Also givin the somewhat subterrainian archectecture on heastrom biolum for sight purposes is possible. If you dont think sexual preference can be a strong motivating factor for evolution then just look at the birds of paradise
http://en.wikipedia....rds_of_paradise
The only explination for why it couldnt be biolum that has thus been presented is that it would blind the person which is wholey ludicrous and completely defies logic. As explained in detail manytimes.
Im not advocating that it is definately biolum, just cant stand idiocy on subjects regarding biology. Most evidence points away from reflective when looked at in any detail. Biolum or cybernetics best possiblities. although bioware will ultimately have the final say one way or the other.
