No! Somebody not only stated her intention to abandontalif or liara, but threatened to do tali harm! I don't think they screwed up, they were trying to create a troubled romance, and frankly I think they did a good job. I think the issue is more than they didn't make people MORE attached to them in ME1 so that they would be more compelled to try and stick it out. Some more in-depth conversation options may have helped, but I'm fairly certain that the idea was to make people feel hurt, or betrayed.Archonsg wrote...
Uhh no no. I meant after ME2, if Bioware wants us to still care for our previous LIs, they need to do some really serious writing. You can't just make Both Ash and Kaiden "moronic", accusing you of not only treason but totally ignoring evidence that is right in front of them and making Liarra obsessed to the point of being fanatical in her bid to rid the SB and expect us to believe that they both just did a 180° turn in emotional make up and suddenly want to cuddle up to Shepard again. Well maybe Kaiden...but he's male...hormones and all that.
Actually in Liara's case I am more concerned than betrayed; it is obvious that she went through a lot and is not dealing with it well. If she were the same old Liara then the romance is flat -- it has no twist at all, no conflict to make the romance a story unto itself. Stories require conflict and resolution, and if she weren't obsessing over the SB then she wouldn't be in a place where we have to help her emotionally rather than just something we can solve by doing a mission with guns blazing. IMO, people who look at Liara and think, "But what about MY feelings, huh? Why aren't you more loyal to me??" are acting rather selfishly. If your best friend or lover became obsessed over something that could get them killed you wouldn't take that as a personal affront, you'd want to try and help them resolve their issue.

Ash's message to you later I think was a good start (it was very apologetic) Kaiden's message was not so for my Fem Shep.
Yes there is that.
Kaiden's still an ass, but Ash's message showed that she still cared but still is as stubborn as a mule when it comes to your role in Cerberus.
Liarra's "shoe in plot" if I am to take a stab at it will be tied to you finding more about the reapers in ME3. Heck wouldn't it be funny if the SB are really agents for the reapers and that's how they get Liarra and you back together as a team. It would be logical then that she re-discovers her love for you and thus friction between current LI and Liarra.

You can modify the PC version to unlock her early. She even has dialog for all the initial missions too.
