I like the new pic. Really like the eyes.
As for how Garrus would react...
Shepard: Garrus have time to talk?
Garrus: I'm kinda busy right now. Maybe later.
Shepard: No it's kinda important.
Garrus: Like how important?
Shepard: Like really f**kn important.
Garrus: What is it? Defeating a Reaper? Destroying another race that threatens humanity?
Shepard:...Tali and I are... well in a relationship now.
Garrus:.... What the hell is it with you and suicide missions?
It was either that or this ending.
Garrus measures Shepards arm: Well... You definetly have reach.

from. I can appreciate the effort and attention to detail that went into it. But...I don't
know, I just can't say too many good things about this piece.

The ears remind me of those of the asari, which I find somewhat incongruous in a quarian because the asari have all the folds of skin on their heads, which leads to how their ears are designed. The quarians don't have these folds, so it's unlikely that their ears look like that, but I'm just being picky right now.
Wha...? Asari? Asari don't even HAVE visible ears as near as I can tell.
Anyway, it is known that Quarians don't have external ear lobes, and I thought this seemed like a good treatment of it. It could certainly be changed with minimal effect on the rest of the face, though, so I don't see that as a problem
Turian? What part reminds you of Turians? 'Cause I really don't see it.Also, it's my opinion that this concept is a cross between a turian and an asari. If the asari actually took genetic material from the father species and created a hybrid of the two, I think this is what you would get

The part where on a human there would be ears, where it kinda goes into the head. On that concept it looks ridged, like on the asari. See it?Pauravi wrote...

And as for the turians, when I was looking at it and glanced at your profile pic, there was a bit of a resemblance between the two. It's more in the basic shape of the face, not any features or anything actually concrete.

It is a study of body shape, not specific anatomy. The figure is a 'Barbie doll'.
Not the first thing I thought, but I think I can see where you're getting that. I think this impression comes from the pattern the artist put on her skin, and probably the way he drew her face, especially with the little "pits", for instance on the inside of her eyes. Fortunately, neither of those things are essential to what I find interesting about the picture. I like this picture more as a set of ideas about the overall body-shape of Quarians, not as a picture of any specific Quarian.her physiological appearence just seems
to lizard like, which does not match what we know about where Quarians came
from.
I'm not attached to any of the details, like the color or patterning of the skin, or even the specific face. I like the arc of her back, the way her spine connects to her neck, and the way her neck connects with her head, for instance. The artist drew the figure a bit too "muscled" for my tastes, and some of the curves are a bit too extreme.. almost comic-bookish. But that doesn't keep me from liking the kernel of the idea.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that. But guys, it'd be so much easier to find this kind of thing if everyone linked to the source of the pictures they post... it's one of the basic rules of the Internet, really. Sorry if I'm ranting, it's just a big pet peeve of mine. Authors of fanart like this one deserve to be congratulated, but it's often difficult to do because you can't find out who they are when their work is just passed around without any link to their author or to the original post they appeared in.
So, there *cough*. Still, amazing picture.

Someone posted a screenshot of Tali a while ago that shows she has eyebrows so quarians can grow hair.Collider wrote...
How do you know that they have eyebrows? I don't believe that's solid evidence that they have hair. Quarians are humanoids but they evolved on a planet very different from Earth. The humanoid shape in general is quite good for manipulation and energy use, although not perfect. That doesn't require evolving from ape-like creatures with fur or hair.glenboy24 wrote...
Felipe 058 wrote...
Well, I'm pretty sure her eyes are a bit lighter than that, but the visor may just filter them differently since eyes a highly reflective. Also, I think we're all fairly certain that quarians have little (which this does well) to no hair, bordering on the no hair, though. Other than that, this is a spectacular pic, and I would love if Tali turned out like that. And I agree, the level of detail in this, whether it's CG or done by hand, is absolutely incredible. This is by far my most favorite non-ingame Tali image.NuclearBuddha wrote...
I fully support this idea. They even got the shape of her eyes right, which I'm not sure anyone else does.Collider wrote...
I really like it. The detail is amazing, it looks like professional CG that you would see from the companies Bioware hires to produce the CG trailers. She's quite cute as well, cute as a button really. I'd like her to be a bit more alien but I'm pretty stoked on this appearance.Dreamwalker89 wrote...
just... wow... very nice
Also, Pauravi, is this what you're loking for?
Acutally, there is fairly solid evidence that Quarians have some fairly normal hair. If one takes into account thier ancestry, which is similar to Humans, it's likeky they will have hair in many if not all of the place we do. Just the fact that they have eyebrows is a clue.

And heck, she's horrified when she finds out what her father did. It seems to me like she's already plenty conflicted on the issue.
There's more going on in these scenes than just her issues with what her father was doing and why. Yeah, she's conflicted on the whole thing because what she really wants isn't happening. Shepard comments on this in his paragon response (he gets it finally), but the key to the situation is in the renegade response(s).
What Tali is really looking for is confirmation that her father loves her. What she wants to find is his farewell on that recording saying that he loved her. She doesn't find it. At the very end, she accepts this and moves beyond it--and the paragon Shepard dialog is what helps her do it. Renegade, not so much (but I'd have to read it again). Also, I think this scene is what brings about her response to Shepard's "I didn't do this for Rael..." statement after her trial.
Rael drives himself to do the unthinkable mainly because it's the only way he can express himself to his daughter. That's exactly what she didn't want from him, but she does go along with that plan since it's the only way she had of being close to him.

One screenshot is hardly conclusive, especially since NO other screenshots show it. Even when you clip inside her helmet to see the actual texture there are no eyebrows on it. IMO, it's just a lighting effect interacting with the shape of the model underneath the visor.Sol243 wrote...

The screenshot was a very good closeup of her face and I doubt it's a lighting effect. It could be when you clip inside it you cause the eyebrows to disappear. If I could find the picture and post it I could. I hope someone else has it.Pauravi wrote...
