I'm sure you know that feeling, when you're breathing heavy and it's cold outside. Mixed with phsyical effort you usally soak up the air threw your mouth, giving it less time to warm up and then well - the air burns like fire, with every breath you take. Makes you break, break down and just want to be left alone.

Colonist/Survivor has had a lot of time to get used to being alone. Tali just replaced her father with Shep. Yeah, she'd be completely destroyed.El-Destructo wrote...

This is just my perspective: (paragon) Shep dying would be more tragic. Knowing that his death would cause such desolation in her would probably make his last few moments very unhappy (even if it was a noble sacrifice).
I would suggest that in the opposite case Shep is just going to add the tragedy of her death to the many ones he already carries.
Yeah, I was kind of leaning toward that myself. Shepard is a pretty stoic guy... especially if you're a colonist sole-survivor, used to always being the last man standing while everything around him explodes. But Tali would be absolutely devastated, she feels emotional loss like that very keenly..

Indeed, it would be absolutely terrible to put Tali through that situation. Shepard has lost many people before (including his parents in two of the backstories), he would be sad, but he could take the pain and still move on. Tali would be emotionally harmed and changed by Shepard dying.

I don't think my shepard could just take it and move on. Tali is too important too him. Plus hes a space war hero. Hes used to losing people in battle, but he also was always able to protect the ones he loved. If he failed tali it would be like the universe just ended (becuase ya know it would, when I hit the reload button).

Poetically, I think Bioware would handle it differently. First vision that popped into my mind goes as such:Shazzammer2 wrote...

- The epilogue of Mass Effect 3, Tali stands on a cliff overlooking one of Rannoch's oceans. After a few seconds, she turns and walks into her home. The camera cuts to her bedroom and she looks at a picture (hidden from the viewer). She puts the picture down and sits down on the bed. Camera pans over to the picture which shows Shepard and a written "I love you." In the background (blurred by depth of field effects), we see Tali crying as the screen fades to black.
Sad, somber, but would have a MASSIVE emotional impact.
I approve, please proceed!!!sergio71785 wrote...
ME3's ending:
*Shepard and Tali are onboard some frigate alone for some reason*
Tali: Shepard, Harbinger is preparing his dark energy beam! He's going to use it destablize Sol, we have to destroy the beam emitter!
Shepard: This is bad...our weapons are still offline.
Tali: What are we going to do?
*Shepard thinks for a while, then looks at Tali, and smiles*
Shepard: I have a plan. Do you have antibiotics with you?
Tali: Of course, Quarians always keep some on them, but how's that going to help--
*Shepard interupts Tali by putting his hands on her helmet and removes her mask. He kisses her*
Shepard: Use them.
*Shepard then grabs Tali, and pushes her into a nearby escape pod, and seals the door*
Shepard: Goodbye, Tali. I love you.
*Tali pounds on the glass*
Tali: Shepard no! We can find another way!
*Shepard hits the eject button, and the escape pod flies away. He then precedes to fly the ship straight into the Reaper's dark energy weapon, destroying it with a huge explosion*
...
A while later everyone is abord the Normandy, Tali included, all sad and crying over Shepard's death. Until suddenly, EDI picks up a transmission from a nearby escape pod, and sensors show lifesigns aboard it. The escape pod is from the exact same frigate Shepard was on.

Yeah, it's cheesy and cliche as hell. And you know what? Not a single one of you won't have a huge grin at that point!
