To be fair (I'm going to ignore the horrible part of the metaphor) we darksiders actually are great cooks but the light side always downplays this, just like our adopt a kitten charities and our bake sales for kids harmed by mass effect fields. But no the only thing people remember about the dark side are the mean jerks and not the nice friendly people like me.

To be fair I for example had no idea that Tali would be a LI, and people like Jake they just wanted to score with the pretty alien.

Same reason. I never thought Tali would become an LI and I like sappy romances.
Since I didn't care for Ashley I decided to go with Liara, whom I could stand to be around slightly more. That's how love works.

Romance, and we all watch in silence, geek energy level to full,
as the dialogue ensues followed by the gift that is the Quarian
Pounce. Fade to black, with everyone around the Tube looking
like christmans came early...despite the fact that all of us have
seen this particular moment play out well over a dozen times.
Give or take. Anyway, the game is starting to move into the run
on the Collector Base when one of our ilk asks the following
question. Keep in mind, the person posing the question was a
Girl. Reproductive organs on the inside. So, yeah, the question:

Gina: "Wait, did Shepard have to use protection?" 

Wait, wait, that's not the sad part.

*cue dumb laughter...followed by a strange silence as the
lot of us actually stop, and start to think about it*

The game is paused, and the discussion begins. Comments
such as, "Well, Mordin mentioned Antiseptics, so..." and
"Well, Shepard's man fluids would cause Tali aniphylactic
shock..." Etc, etc. This discussion continued for well over an hour
and some change. Various points and counter points were covered,
and at last this sad episode came to an end. Now, for reasons I do
not wish to over analyze, this question has been stuck in my head;
and, since some of you people acutally have a Solid, mature, and
intelligent head on your shoulders, I thought I'd field the question to
you folks. Now, keep in mind, I'm not asking this to be childish, lude,
or offensive. As some of you know, I don't even like the Tali Nude art.
So, please keep that in mind if you choose to share your own two cents.
Thank folks, keep the Tali Love Alive.

Okay, so, given the fact that this question got 'completely' ignored, I'm going to assume that people either didn't
A) Find it interesting. Or, Though this was an attempt to be a Troll.
If it's the former, I can understand that. Truth be told, I had my doubts, but decided to throw it out there none the less. And if it's the latter, well, then I apologize, this that is 'never' my intention with anything I post. So, note to self, don't bother asking long winded odd questions. Consider me noted.

All options explored, Renegade (Denoted by Russian names), Paragon, romance, no romance.

But both canon Shepard's cheating. Dmitri on Ash. Roman on Liara.
All with Tali...

As for an answer, I'm going to say that Shepard would definitely have had to use protection of some kind (or they didn't actually have sex, who knows but them).  Anaphilaptic shock would NOT have Tali going "totally worth it."

Yes, my artistic intuition has always been more...clinical. I'm an excellent technical cellist, but it's only really been in the past three or four years that I've been able to put real emotion into what I play. I mean, I'd feel the emotion of what I was playing, but I wouldn't often express it outwardly. Probably why I'm a scientist instead of an artist... Oh well, I find joy and peace in performing and listening, and I guess that's all I--or anyone, for that matter--can really ask for, isn't it? 

That it is. You don't have to understand it to love it. As with many other things once you begin to gather a greater understanding of what lies beneath the surface you gain a greater insight in to what transpires to create the end result (much the same as with scientific research). I find that enjoyable although as with theater/movie/computer game productions, once you see behind the scenes there is a risk of losing some of the perceived magic as reality sets in. Well worth the risk when weighed against the opportunity to be an active part in something larger than any one of the participating individuals while also tapping in to creative urges and instincts, IMO.
