But the romance path was kind of predictable. on the surface she's a badass biitch but under that tough layer she'd super sensitive and cries during sex.

What? Finding out that the Rachni is rebuilding and will fight for you when you finally fight the reapers does not matter?

Here is what I think will happen in ME3, All your choices from ME1 and 2 will cascade, and choices you made in both games, even some we now think as inconsequential will mater. Like Conrad Verner. Who's to say he won't pull the "ultimate sacrifice" to save his hero, Shepard, of course in the most rediculous and funny way.

If you meant directly effecting ME2, then perhaps not, but your actions do make a difference in how people treat you. While its true that you still get what you want, your play experience does follow a different path, so I do count that as "mattering".

That would be the best ending ever...Shepard getting ready for a suicide run on Harbinger when all of the sudden Harbinger blows up...they recieve a message and it's Conrad
Conrad: Did I do good Shepard?
Shepard: (laughs) you did very good Conrad.

Agreed as much as I hated Jack she wasn't...bland. She had tons of character, but, what can I say, Tattoos are a turn off!

I'm specifically avoiding that mindset, because that was my problem with ME2.  I went in expecting my decisions to matter, and they didn't.  If I expect the same with ME3, and Bioware does the same thing, I'll be disappointed.  I'm sure the rachni decision will pop up at some point, but I feel like some people are expecting the rachni to come in and save the galaxy from destruction at the last minute, and I don't think the effect will be that pronounced.  The rachni is also the easiest choice to have an effect on the ending.  The others are much more nebulous, and could easily be changed by actions in ME2/3.

Like you said though, they'll definitely change the characters and dialogue, so you'll feel your decisions.  That's good enough for me.  I just worry that people are expecting a little too much in the way of decisions affecting the universe.

Well thats good, I know your one of the people that actually liked her and didnt just use her as a one nighter.

What exactly do you mean by bland though? I found her quite interesting.

She doesn't have much character. Little backstory, little dialogue, little insight into character. It's hard to put in words why, but she's just bland. Like Kaidan and Jacob, they're bland too.

That's you're right. I don't really care one way or the other who you choose to romance, but it was your fault for threatening tali in the first place.

After you started to call she I got very..... uncomfortable posts from Jake.

I think he was saying the other ME2 LIs are also more interesting than Liara. Not that all of them are bland in comparison to Tali. Although judging by the thread we are in he would probably still say Tali > other ME2 LIs, even if they aren't bland.

true, after she explained it a little the connection was sort of back. But, she has changed. She's not the Asari I once knew in ME. She an Asari who's out for vengence. Either way though, I pettied her. It would be interesting to see her in ME3 though.

That's exactly how I felt. After my first encounter wth Liara in ME2 I actually started using an ME save where I hadn't romanced anyone for all ME2 games I started beyond that. I thought "Why bother romancing her when Bioware effectively kills the relationship like that?"

Way I see it you will probably have the option of (Paragon) helping her get back to old Liara or (Renegade) pushing her all the way into being a Darth Liara.

Hmm that's an interesting thought! Wonder if she goes back trying to become an LI for shep. Who to chose who to chose....hmmm. Tali for sure! =]

I dont know I kinda liked him as a friend. He seemed to be rational and stay cool unlike Ashley.

But Ashley at least had personality.
