Again revenge or a loved one and the fate of all advanced life in the f*cking galaxy!

Your not happy enough that she got your body back from the Collectors after Shepard died?<_<

Actually I see Liarra as a rather sad figure. She does love you, just that her obsession with TSB, perhaps due to what TSB was going to Shepard  has given her tunnel vision and she can't see the past her hate, even when the person she loved is right there in front of her. In her mind even when seeing Shepard alive, her "need" to kill TSB is now greater as she thinks its the best way to keep Shepard alive. Revenge is just icing at this point.

In the Liara DLC, even after you help her kill the Shadow Broker, she still won't join you, instead she will become the new Shadow Broker.
I now hate Liara almost as much as Ash and Miranda

Reasons I got Ashley Williams killed on Virmire...

1. She was a xenophobe / racist / anti-alien bigot (take your pick)
2. She was prepared to shoot Wrex in the back, against orders www.youtube.com/watch
3. She won't trust you for working with Cerberus (a pro-human group), while your alien crewmembers (even Liara and Wrex) will trust you.
4. She was a soldier, I was a soldier, Kaiden balanced the team better. Plus with everyone saying Miranda is the most useful squadmate in ME2, why not have another sentinel in ME3? Especially one with a better attitude.
5. Liara was nicer (in ME1)
6. Who cares, as long as I have Tali?

I was kinda warming up to her until the Bomb mission, she suddenly gets all panic girly like... "OMG I have to sets off da bomb! Eeek!" So was thinking trying to get with her up until that point. But I saved her anyway cause Kaiden just in his voice knew he was going to die and kinda gave me his farewells in his tone of voice. Kaiden just gave me the vibe that he would have been more pissed if I actually took the time to save him instead of insuring the bomb went off with Ashley.

So I reluntingly saved her. After that I kinda took her down a notch... was happy to see her in ME2, but when everyone starts bugging me if we had a history, I'm like... "Hell no."

Speaking of which, why I am not given the same 3rd degree after going to Illum?

Doesn't she say it could take decades to stop TSB?  She's an asari, she has that time to waste, Shepard doesn't.

She has been tracking him down for years, dropping everything could mean that shed have to start all over.

She's got roughly 900 more years to hunt I'm sure she could spare a few.

Time to spare? Possibly. The same set of circumstances in active play? Debatable. Perhaps the present ME time would turn out to be the optimal time for her to hunt the SB due to events not to be repeated nor mirrored for the next thousand years. That is all speculation however as the only way to measure this would be after the fact. Predicting future events is tricky business.

I do agree that Liara declining Shepard's invitation demonstrates that she has a different set of priorities and that the nature of their relationship - be it platonic or otherwise - has changed. Whether they will be able to align their interests more harmoniously in the future remains to be seen.

Bah. People are FAR too harsh on Ashley and Liara. I get tired of arguing these points, they crop of so often, but frankly I think people are far too selfish if they expect them to just drop all their sh*t and hop on board with you all of a sudden. I don't know, maybe people lack empathy, or the ability to see things from another's perspective, or maybe they just lack the commitment to stick with a relationship when it is in trouble and you have other options, but they both have good reasons for acting the way they do.

Ashley is an Alliance marine, and she is as gung-ho patriotic as any U.S. marine. You knew that from the beginning and it is what you expect. For her, finding out that you work for Cerberus would be like you finding out that your best friend joined the Taliban or the Neo-****s. Yes, her reaction is not rational, but also realistic given her personality and background. I'd expect her to be torn, and she is.

Liara I especially don't understand. People are acting as if she abandoned you when she is the only reason you're even alive! She is clearly suffering emotionally and psychologically from what she had to go through to get you back, and now all of a sudden she is just supposed to be cured of her obsession after two years of stewing hatred because you pop in the door and say, "Hey time to drop everything, lets go"? You expect her to be dedicated to you and she was -- she saved your life. How how about showing a little dedication to her?

Bioware is testing people's commitment to their original LI's by making a "troubled romance" plot, and frankly I think they did a good job coming up with reasons for it. Sure, they could have fleshed the dialogue out more, explained their motivations better, but how they act DOES make sense. People sure aren't very understanding.

I find it very...convenient..of you to place all blame and responsibility on BioWare. True, they don't exactly leave any of us much room to maneuver in regarding the ME1 LIs come ME2 and that is due to BW's design decisions and thus their responsibility. The same goes in regards to our dialogue options with the ME1 LIs, but where it concerns choosing a different LI in ME2, be it Tali'Zorah or someone else, that is the player's responsibility since no one is forcing the player to take on a new LI in ME2. That you, I and many others leaped at the chance to be with Tali because the option was available in ME2 doesn't absolve us of the fact that it was each our own choices to do so and thus that is our responsibility just as the design decision mentioned previously are BioWare's responsibility.

I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't have romanced Tali. I did it too and I did, and still do, genuinely care for Ashley. I don't consider it cheating given the extraordinary circumstances involved between ME1 and ME2, yet the responsibility for choosing to be with Tali is mine just as it is yours for your playthrough if you chose to romance someone other than any ME1 LI interest you may have had.

I think I look at the situation differently than most.  I try to see the world as close to real life as possible, but in the end, its still a fictional universe where Bioware controls a lot more of what happens than I do.  The main thing being the lack of the ability to break up with your LI.  By what stretch of the imagination wouldn't you be able to respond to Ashley's email with either; "I forgive you, and still love you," or "you had your chance, you chose the Alliance over me."  The inability to break up with someone disconnects me from the reality of the universe.  I see that its clearly a game, and I'm not in control of the situation, just on a ride and can lean slightly to one side or the other.  If it was real life, I would try to talk to Ashley more, and if that was all that was said, I wouldn't consider us together.  Bioware disagrees, so I cheated in their eyes.

You're completely failing to understand that this is an emotional-psychological issue.
Explaining to someone logically why they shouldn't behave in a self-destructive manner is not always effective.  If it were, being a shrink would be much easier.

I don't understand why you need Liara by the way.

The mission doesn't involve Protheans, she's a century old and you have a 600-years-old-Justicar or a 200-Years-old-Ardak-Yakshi that may have like 10 times more biotic powere than her.

If she ends up being the Shadow Broker, That would be amazing. I could use her information network to actually be a step further my enemies. But as a Biotic? Hell no.

I get what you're saying, But Tali is just as committed to the Migrant Fleet as Ash is to the Alliance, and has a lot more reason not to trust Cerberus. Yet she still puts aside her personal bias for the sake of the galaxy. Is it too much to ask Ashley to do the same?
