Anyone else notice the rising number of Liara fans in the Tali thread? Maybe its because there's is all quiet and dead-like compared to ours. Still, no amount of Liara fandom can overcome Tali fandom.

A fair point.  You're right, of course, all relationships are two-way.
I should have worded it differently.  I meant to convey that people pawning off the decision as if Ashley had already made it FOR them seems like copping out of responsibility to me.  It is a two-way street, like you said, and between the two of you, you're still the one making the decision to move on.  Not that it is unjustifiable, but that is still the reality of it.

In real life I would have communicated at greater length with Ash before dropping her as a love interest, but given the choices made available to me in ME2 there is no clear way to have Ash confirm that the relationship is still on and there is no respectful way to conclude it either. All Ash had to say or write in order to have me/my Shepard stick around for a while longer would be something as simple as, "I'm a bit confused right now. There's a lot to take in right now and I need a bit of time. Okay?"

Indeed, that would have been better.
In any case, not giving a "breakup" option I assume was done for the purpose of forcing a confrontation in ME3 about it.  It does make sense in some ways, too.  After all, although it has been 2 years for Ash, for Shepard it feels like practically yesterday that you were crew-mates and lovers, hunting down pockets of Geth.  He is probably walking into the situation feeling happy that he gets to see her again, and breaking up is the furthest thing from his mind.  I imagine he is rather blind-sided by it.  Wishing to break up with Ash right then and there is probably a feeling we get only because we can't help but do a little bit of meta-gaming.

thats epic dude. any way on ME1 i did liara and on ME2 i go tali all the way and i relize shes 10x better than liara imo so like in ME3 liara might be like "baby come back" but im gonna be like "uh no tali better"

Liara doesn't have that much power as I saw. The mind-flaying would be helpful but shes only around 100 years old. No way she'd have that much power by then

Being on Illium for the past two years and being a top information dealer has led to her having the best in biotic enhancements.  Besides she seemed pretty confident in her biotics when she was intimidating the human.

I told you I thanked her but she's so obsessed with the Shadow Broker and her dead friend that's all I can get out of her. It's obvious her friend meant a lot more at the time they were alive. . Shepard saves her ass in ME1 so I think of Liara saving yours as returning the favor

Most Tali fans romanced Liara in the first game, they share some similar characteristics.  It stands to reason that some of them still like Liara even if they like Tali more, and makes sense that they would respond if they see unfair hate being directed at a character they like.

She used Asari Commandos. ASARI. COMMANDOS. The Commandos do all the work. She still doesn't have the experience for that kind of power, no matter how good her biotic amps are. She's just live Benezia now.. makes me sick

The mission doesn't involve Protheans, she's a century old and you have a 600-years-old-Justicar or a 200-Years-old-Ardak-Yakshi that may have like 10 times more biotic powere than her.

If she ends up being the Shadow Broker, That would be amazing. I could use her information network to actually be a step further my enemies. But as a Biotic? Hell no.

Samara is closer to 1,000 years old and Morinth is over 400 years old since Samara states she has been hunting her for over 400 years.

I guess Asari just never look old do they.

Oh, and BTW, Tali is just the best.

Then whomever typed up that "estimated" figure biffed it. The in-game dialogue implies Samara is closer to 1,000 years.

im a tali fan... but just because i like tali doesnt mean i have to void all other characters contributions and devalue them...in fact if i were to o that it would be an insult to tali.

I romanced Liara in ME1 but when I saw her in ME2 I was a little disappointed in what she became. She wasn't Liara anymore it was just Lil' Benezia. I still liked Tali the most though through both games.

That was because she had that script written by her mother two years ago, with all the "few humans have"  =/

She's a century old. Whatever can Liara do, Samara/Morinth can do better. Even Jack I'd say, knowing what she is and what are the consequences of being a biotic B*tch (neural degradation).

And, well, I think that Tali could just overload/hack those biotic enhancements xDDDDD

dont disagree with that at all... just saying li with tali not possible without liara 

It's not possible without Miranda either. She rebuilt Shepard.
