Well, look at it this way, they did it for all the squadmates in ME2(mostly), and some of them won't be coming back, so it's nothing out of the realm of feasibility. 

Plus keeping everyone alive...really isent that hard. Add in a achivement and the fact that most people do multiple playthroughs (if only to try diff classes/moralitly) and I think its safe to say that almost everyone has at least one save where everyone made it. So I dont see resources spent on any characters being wasted.

I have no problem with swaping discs a couple of time if it is worth it. FFVII had 3 discs,FFVIII had 4 discs,anyone complained about it? I didn´t

Thane and Samara I agree. Morinth I dunno she is drawn to you like no other before you. Possible you might even curb her cravings.

Grunt is bound to you as your his battle-master, at least until you run out of targets so I think he will be there.

Zaeed I agree thou he will probably jump ship at the next port

Thane is ill with a disease which as far as we know is incurable, so I agree there.
Zaeed is a mercenary, no money=not going to work, so he'll probably go back to being a mercenary.
Samara on the other hand said I could call on her at any time, maybe indicating that she will return.Dunno about Morinth, never recruited her.
Grunt- You're his battlemaster, he feels an obligation to you, he might ceome back.

I know I'm going to get booed for this but hear me out before you start thowing things at me. ME is Shep's story, not Tali's. I love Tali and as I stated before I will not buy me3 new from ea/bioware if she isn't a recruitable squad mate li. That's just me. I think alot of people don't like Tali because we go too far in our zeal for her sometimes. Would I love to have Tali on the cover? Absolutly, but I also realize many people wouldn't. There are other stories and li out there that other people enjoy (I know, I don't understand it either). I'm not trying to put you down Marine, because I agree with you 100% about Tali, it's  just she can't take center stage. Now a possible work around (listen up EA $$$ idea), make a few special editions with either Shep or your favorite character on the cover with additional armor or weapons for that character in addition to whatever dlc you would get for Shep as a pre-order. EA won't get a backlash for folding to our requests (don't want to use demands) and we get a Tali SE ME3, win-win. What's your thought

i never romanced her. outside of the romance, she doesnt seem like the type to return. and if biowares gotta pick and choose, well, jacks not that popular...

prob possible romances are samare if u almost kissed her and she rejected you so she will prob be a mass 3 LI liara idk but i hope she comes back tali i hope she is an LI in mass 3

I deny that ending sooo hard. I was powerful enough to go toe to toe with the actual essence of a god, and win. I'm so powerful that I banish arch demons, and kill dragons like they're everyday critters, even Elminster is intimidated by how powerful I am and I left some weak god kill my romance? **** that!

Much like I deny the Aribeth dying in NWN, even though it's quaint to romance a ghost in the expac.

you do have a point, but i personally think garrus and tali should share the cover. shepard IS the main character, but he can change. besides, garrus and tali are very iconic of the series, and the most common team across both teams is tali, shepard, and garrus. as the saying goes, no man rose to the top without the aid of those below him
