I agree with what you say except for the claim about cheating. On two separate occasions Ashley specifically mentions that neither she nor Shepard, nor their status to each other, are the same as they were before Shepard's death. That's confirmation that they are not in a relationship the way they were in ME1. At best they are in a hiatus. At worst they are not together at all (death tends to have that effect on people in relationships).

Because caring for someone and falling in love with someone are not one and the same thing (though if you experience the latter odds are that the former applies as well, though not necessarily vice versa). I still care for Ashley but I fell in love with Tali. Besides, I wanted Tali first and foremost in ME1 yet that wasn't an option and Ashley grew on me during the course of ME1.

Not in my opinion. While I found Tali attractive she was also younger and I felt it was better to let her experience more things on her own - that Tali was not romanceable made it a moot choice however. I don't know how old you are nor what sort of relationships you have, or haven't, experienced in real life but reality is that most, if not all, people are going to be attracted to more than one person during the course of their lives and often simultaneously. Choices have to be made. That you choose one over another does not mean that each individual does not have something special to offer nor that one is automatically a worse choice than the other (though this can be one possibility). Sometimes events on the ground are not fortuitous towards facilitating a relationship.

I'll use myself as an example: I have a female friend I met as a postgraduate university student. From the moment I first saw her I was attracted to her. She had a boyfriend so I never made a move. Years later while I was in a relationship and she was single I told her that had she been single back then I would have asked her out. She smiled and said that if she had been single she would have said yes. Today we are still in touch irregularly and she is apparently deeply in love with her current boyfriend. I'm pleased on her behalf. I've been in a few relationships since then and I have loved each of those women deeply while still being attracted to my friend. The fairy tale stories of "Oh I only have eyes for you and will never, ever be attracted nor could possibly fall in love with another person for as long as I live are just that: A fairy tale. Reality is far less clear cut and black or white.

Speculative. We have no way of knowing what Shepard was dreaming of, whom was or was not in any potential dreams, whether said potential dreams would be deemed positive or negative, etc. Besides, for a good part of those 2 years and 12 days Shepard wasn't dreaming at all as he was clinically dead. Move to strike.

thats why i sai the dieing part at the begining...and if u read wat i responded to u would see that someone said that shepard had 2 years to have feelings for tali develop so i already covered all bases you just tried to point out

No apologies necessary, however your comment did not cover all bases. My observation still stands that there is no way for any of us to know empirically what Shepard was dreaming of at the time, short of BioWare's creative staff canonizing what may, or may not, have transpired in Shepard's mind once he was resuscitated from a death state. Furthermore, the period of time where Shepard was clinically dead he/she wouldn't have been dreaming of anything. Period.
