While I'm not a huge fan, this is probably the most canonically accurate attempt yet, because it takes into account the book's mention of "What would pass for ears on a quarian" and Grunt's mention of quarians not being "fleshy" like asari/humans/salarians and having stronger spines.

She's also alien enough to be reasonably different from humans. I'm guessing if we ever find out their canonical appearance, it'll be close to this.

The canon information for quarian appearance is very slim.  Without getting too far into it, the "drowned zombie" pic posted recently is just as accurate from a canon info perspective.  Bioware can justify just about any appearance they want.

We also have no idea what Grunt meant by them not being fleshy.  The likely explanation is that he was factoring in the suit, but we have no way to prove it.

It matters not for he has not based his arguments on sound logic and thus they have been brushed aside though he claims otherwise (unsurprisingly really). Whether it takes 5 hours, 5 months or 5 years or more to break and banish these nonsensical arguments that are presented will be what it will be. While I would prefer to be able to quickly put such tomfoolery to rest and move on to other matters I will not shy away from committing whatever resources are necessary to stamp this disingenuous and misleading hypocrisy out.

What?! Sorry, I mean, to each there own, but, there is NO way
this is the most canonically accurate art piece. Sorry, she
looks like a lizard, and as we know the Quarian people decended
from a Quasi-Simian species on Rannoch, so...yeah, thier not
Lizards. If you want an accurate Art piece look for Master_Cyrus
"Her Face" on DeviantArt. That's the most accurate depiction of
Tali Zorah.

Lol. I'm not saying I want her to look like that; I would prefer that DeviantArt picture. However, the Quasi-Simian thing has no basis in canon and is just forum speculation. This particular picture just comes closest because it covers the spine thing as well as the ear comment from Ascension.

I should reword: This isn't the closest, this is the only picture I've seen that isn't PURE speculation (and speculation is still good!). It has basis in canon.

Just for good order's sake why don't you explain the point you claim you are making with the hypothetical bit? You know, just to make sure I didn't overlook something...and to ensure you aren't trying to play a game of "The Emperor's New Clothes." ;)

So by your own logic if this is all only a game where things happen for contrived purposes then why does it apparently bother you so much that a fictional code and Justicar do not subscribe to your own way of thinking? =]

To an extent; one of the key differences being that I at least have based my arguments and any potential assumptions upon stated background history of Samara along with the abilities she has displayed in the game. That gives the points that rely upon these sources of evidence some measure of credibility since if they can be performed in one setting there exists the very real possibility that they can be performed under other similar settings.

Back to you.

What would happen, if they would take Samara in custody for only two days, lets say to proof her credentials, would she be compelled to break free after one day regardless? Can the code possibly cover all of this situations?

It doesn't bother me at all, it was just the only aspect i didn't like on Samara as a game character.

And I can claim very much the same regarding the informations we get about her. There is no point, were I contradict anything said in the game, I'm merely playing with possibilities or alternatives that may or may not be possible, but they only serve as examples, nothing more.

The answer to your questions have already been answered in ME2. Please feel free to play the relevant parts of the game and/or watch recorded clips of it on YouTube for as many times as it takes for the message to sink in.

So you are freely admitting that you have in fact not contributed any solid arguments based upon existing knowledge of Samara, the Asari Justicar order nor the code. Thank you for confirming that. Barring startling new revelations based upon reliable sources (i.e. BioWare) I will proceed to discount any future commentary you may have on these matters when, where and as I see fit. :)

I agree that this is possibly the most canon concept for a Quarian, however, in my mind, I picture the eyes being closer together. In fact, I picture the face being similar to the popular image where tali has the four nostrils (can't find the link). I am not a fan of the four nostrils, mind. I would rather think her nose is closer to this one, except flatter and without the wrinkles. Maybe someday I will sit down and try to draw what I think a quarian looks like. It might be the most similar to this one.

So what's the consensus? How can she be in ME3 with as a big a role as ME2 if she can die? Is Kal'Reegar going to replace the Tali that dies in anyone's ME2 import? What does that mean for the amount of content we'll get. Are they writing dialogue for possible 16+ squadmates?

Many questions are many.

Kal can die as well.  He won't be the replacement if there is one.  My personal opinion is that there won't be any replacement at all, just the minimum 4 or 5 characters if you killed as many people as possible, and possibly 1 or 2 new characters.  If a character died in your game, they just aren't there.

No reason she can't have just as big of a role in the next one.  I trust that Bioware can come up with alternate realities without each character.  And can't see them penalizing people that saved everyone.

But how can she have as big a roll in ME2 as she did in ME3 if she can die? Let's say Shepard has to go to the Flotilla again to get their help against the Reapers. Wait a minute I just figured it out, those that have Tali will have sweet cutscenes and extra dialogue when you meet the Quarians again, and those that don't are going to be alone and awkward saying "Oh yeah, I got your girl genius killed, so can you help me out with the Reapers?"

I think I'm right.

The characters really didn't play that large a role in ME2.  There were a lot of them, but each of them only offered a few lines of dialogue and a mission.  If we assume that there won't be a personal loyalty mission for each in the third, all they have to include is a good amount of dialogue.  Relatively easy from a development standpoint.  She's going to have dialogue no matter what.  If she's alive in your game, she can play just as big of a part as ME2 with a few convo wheels, and talking when you go to the flotilla.

As far as the flotilla example, either you have Tali, and she guides you around, and makes everything easier, or she's dead, and the admirals still let you in because you can help them.  Think of the Wrex situation in ME2.  Without him, you can still accomplish the objective on Tuchanka, but its not as awesome.

Which is pretty much impossible (for both sides of the argument) , as long as you're not talking about a clear mathematical problem that one got wrong. =]

Except for all the posts that present logical arguments referencing both canonized information from the ME universe along with real live examples from our own reality. It beats idle speculation. =]
