I know a guy who used to play Street Fighter 2 against himself. One controller with his hands and the other controller with his feet. Sometimes he'd actually use his feet when playing against other people and still make them look like total newbs.

I personally made a new ME1 character.  I do like Liara, and I want to continue her romance and not betray her.  But of course I love Tali, so I had to do one of each.  Perhaps out of sheer morbid curiosity after I finish those two ME3 play-throughs I will see what happens if you force a confrontation

Do whatever you want, if you like ME1, then by all means play it again.  If you would rather not play it, I doubt the scope of ME3 will change that much based on that one thing.

I can't see a fight happening, too out of character, if anything, I would expect it would be something like ME1.

Restart ME1 but save your current playthrough.

Canon Talimancer has no LI in ME1, otherwise would contradict "I dont want anyone else. I want you" statement from Shepard. Feel awful saying that line when I romanced Liara.
