I disagree.  These women have loved you while you were DEAD for two years.  How kindly are they going to treat you and your LI when they realize you no longer return those feelings.

I doubt it. But It won't matter for me. I stayed single in ME1.  Wasn't interested with anyone else with but Tali.

I personally suspect that one of three things will happen between the two LIs, in this order of probability:

1. They argue, you choose. The one you don't choose doesn't join your crew.

2. They argue, you choose. The one you don't choose permanently loses "loyalty" (if the concept exists in ME3)

3. They argue, you choose. And that's it, nothing else happens.

and thoses had nothing to do with you.
think about it youre two LI's both had sex with youre Sheperd theres going
to be more then chairs being thrown in ME3.

It's more of a metagame thing.  If you didn't play ME1, you're locked into a relationship with Ashley (who you're almost guaranteed to hate if you only played ME2,) and you can't break up with her.  I assume most people romanced someone in ME1, they're stuck with them as well.  Bioware can't  make the punishment really bad and screw over nearly everyone.

The dialogue may be slightly more heated than ME1 (Ashley/Jack would probably be particularly good,) but I can't see it being that much more serious than words.  It isn't like Tali and Liara are going to fight to the death over you.  The absolute worst would be ME1 LI not joining you.

I'm not sure if the two would engage is any kind of any physical violance against each other, but I can well imagine some tension between the two LI's as they both strive for your attenchion throughout the game until the point comes where they confront each other and argue over which one Shepard really loves.

(I'm hoping by this point Tali actually stands up for herself and her love for Shepard.)

Well Jack and Miranda are a lot more firey than Liara and Tali for one thing.  They wouldn't all react the same way.  As far as Tali pointing a gun at Legion, that matter involved the direct safety of the flotilla.  I doubt Tali would resort to violence immediately in a confrontation with Liara/Ashley.

I wouldn't rule out some semblance of violence for either Ashley/Jack and Ashley/Miranda, but I expect words to be the main thing exchanged, ending with Shepard choosing (Tali,) and the other getting ticked for the remainder of the game.

I tend to think that they'll leave the crew, personally, in one way or another.  The situation with Liara could be particularly heart-breaking, since it is obvious that she cares about you very much and she is already in a very difficult place emotionally and psychologically.  I fear to think of what could happen to her.

I was under the impression that the developers stated that the only reason that ME1 LI's weren't in ME2 was because they wanted them to play a prominent role in the third.

Ummm, because the devs basically said so.
It was one of the main reasons given why they weren't in ME2; because they wanted to make sure they were in the story for ME3.
