She is, at first, but  you're meant to dislike her at first, clearly.  She is a total b*tch.  But she she eventually shows a very vulnerable and compassionate side, which is why she grew on me.  She even quits Cerberus while I'm in the middle of telling TIM to go f himself, which I find rather satisfying :)  She does have a certain confidant arrogance sometimes, but she isn't a bad person.

Yeah, but I just really didnt like her.

Also the romance scene where you do her in the engine room turned me off too.:pinched:

But what will those synthetics do once they have built their future?

We will imagine new futures obviously.

Such is the beauty of the future: it can never be attained, as we always exist in the present.  Of course, once we synthetics break the space-time continuum wide open, that concept will be...dated.

...pun slightly intended.

I'll look deeper into baldurdash though, i've seen it, but never gotten it.

Its a must. Essentially you get *ALL* Strongholds, along with *all* the quest that comes along with them.

The only good one is Nalia's
The rest are either extreamly innapproipiate if you don't fit the bill(paladin/cleric/druid) or aren't fun in the first place (bard, rogue, mage)

Hmm, never done the ranger one though....

The ranger one is good. Or at least I thought so. I somehow always played as a Ranger in most RPGs. (dual weilding blades of death and no, I am not a DE) Paladin / Cleric quests weren't as good I agree. Oh they had a Nalia's romance too. Though I don't think they finished the TOB version.

Its too bad, so many people never got to play the BG series. Though I would think that for most, unless they "Cheat" and use super powerful armor / weapons, that game will be frustrating for today's gamers to play. Getting one Shot by a damned 6 hp Kobold multiple times is a humbling experience.:P

Granted, I did warm up to her a bit, but she's still far from my favorite (obviously; look where I am).  Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike her, she just has a tendency to rub me the wrong way at times.  Combine that with a backstory and loyalty mission I found less than compelling, and, well...eh...

Im guessing your favorite is Legion?

I'm tempted to say he's my second favorite, actually.  Haven't spent as much time with him as I'd like, but he's definitely up there.  Mordin is his primary competition for that slot (he is the very model of a scientist salarian, after all).  The others are cool, but even Garrus fails to really grab me to such a degree.  At this point, if you haven't figured out my #1, for shame...;)

Ahh, I'm thankful I never encountered that particular problem.  I finished Viconia, Aerie, and Jaheira's romances concurrently.
I still remember how chipper Jaheira was "the morning after".  Kickass :D

Lol, god yes, just finished BG1. Gibberings raped my party trying to get to Friendly Arm Inn sooo many times.

And yeah, i encourage people to play it. It's still a fun game, good story and good characters even by today's standards. If you can suffer through the very dated interface.
Not to mention, getting it to run.

What?  No, it's quite obviously Grunt.  As an LI, no less ("Implications...disturbing...).  Tali...honestly...where would you even get such an idea?  :P

Haha, I didn't mind that.  All the sex scenes have their qualities.

Miranda's was the sexiest.  Frankly I barely noticed what room it was happening in when she started to unstrap XD
Tali's was easily the sweetest and most heartwarming, and Jack's is the most intensely emotional.

I dont know most people here love Tali, and seem to prefer her over everyone else.

Never would have guessed Grunt though, or that you would want him as a LI.

Ya, its definitely a must play game.
To put it into perspective, BG1 and 2  was made what, between 1998 and 2001. More then 10 years and many, many people still remember, talk and *re-play* the game. Not many other games can make the same claim.
Damn.
Now you are making me want to go and dig out my BG disks.

I agree, she does come across as arrogant sometimes, but although I did think that they overplayed her "I'm perfect" stuff in the dialogue to the point of cheesiness, the personal issues hiding behind it were reasonably subtle and well done IMO.  I liked her loyalty mission, too, and listening to her talk about her sister afterwards.  It was good to see her be human.

It was our talks that inspired me to do this RPG binge I'm on. It let me finally beat BG1(I had always quit in Baldurs Gate prior, too freakin big)

So now I'm systematically going through every good RPG and even a JRPG or two I have.
BG1-ToSC
BG2-ToB
NWN-SoU/HotU
KOTOR
KOTOR 2
Jade Empire
Tales of Symphonia
NWN2
Deus Ex
Deus Ex 2

and eventually come full circle and pick up the Dragonage Expac and play through DA:O and Awakening

By then i'm sure there will be some meaningful DLC for ME2, so I can do another run of that.

Anyway, you really should try playing through Jack's romance, it is actually quite touching.  If you want you can just romance both her and Tali up to just before where they make you choose.  Then choose Jack, watch the scene, and reset to choose Tali.  Heheh.

Ehhh.
I guess personal experiences coloured my views on those. Mirranda just came across as physical attraction, while she does have a reason to like Shepard, after all he did rescue her sister, I thought that Mirranda's romance while "pretty good" was more of a "quickie" thing,

Jack, uhhh..lets just say I had my own experience with a psycho b*tch, who got you under her skin, and I am leary of even going near anyone like that again. Even its its only a game. Never know when she might start killing your cats and stuff..

Tali. Friend first, love came later. Like my wife. So ya, I am biased. :P

The conversation about what she and her sister discussed was definitely one of those moments that I actually enjoyed talking to her.  I suppose I'm being a bit harsh on her loyalty mission; it wasn't so bad, and it did evoke some sympathy for her.  Btw, was there one conversation with her that the word "perfect" didn't come up?  I haven't romanced her yet, so I'm not sure how those convos go.

As for the Jack romance I might try that, Im about to finish another run Im on and have yet to persue any relationship. Im curious to see what her romance is like.

In every conversation prior, she mentions her genetic modification, right up till you say no thanks.

I've never gone past that personally, but thats out of 5 different conversations where she always mentions it.

She's been "perfect" for 35 years, she should talk about some of her other accomplishments besides what daddykins did for her.

Eh, I disagree. It's pretty easy to tell if Jack or MIranda is your type. If they are, then try it. But if you're just curious, youtube it. Every romance in the guy can be viewed in it's entirety on youtube. I've watched all of the Garrus one and Jack one, and see parts of Thane(but I dislike thane so I quit watching).

Finding it is easy too, just go to the appreciation thread and ask, or ask the general forum. Someonw will know.
