Tali needs to learn how to take care of herself.

Now this is an interesting statement. I'd argue that she does know how to take care of herself, but it's from a quarian perspective. What would be survival traits in the Flotilla won't necessarily be the same as what Liara or Shepard would need in their milieus. For quarians, it's all about interdependence and cooperation. That is what makes her such as asset to Shepard. On her own in Council space, not so much.

Same thing with Liara. She's in a different place (and, for the record, I do not care for this character particularly). Liara is doing what she thinks she has to do in the circumstances she finds herself in. In my personal opinion, she's making a serious hash of it, but she is in there swinging to the best of her ability. Where that's going to lead we won't know until ME3 (or possibly the rumored paid DLC).

Is Tali's exile going to be made canon? If so, it is highly probable that she will return to the Normandy simply because she has nowhere else to go, and also return in games where she was not exiled to streamline the story.

its not talis fault...she is not responsible for her fathers actions...and liara had been completely innocent when u first met her...she witnessed the death of her mom and had to save the galaxy from the reapers... she had no time to mourn, i believe, so it would hit her at the end...laso shepards death probably impacted her in a bad way... lastly, shes gone completely bonkers and had her bf die which has caused her to pursue revenge...

I get what your saying but if you think about it Tali had to be saved once in ME1 and 2 times in ME2,father died had to work with the very thing she hates most(geth) and all while walking into a mission with next to zero possibilty of living. Liara had to be save twice...once in ME1 and once in ME2,witness her mothers death(if you brought her along) and has the shadow broker on the run to me it seems like liara can handle herself physically and somewhat emotionally excluding the death of shepard

There is no such thing as canon in Mass Effect, except for the events of the books and that Sovereign was defeated.

i hope so, her name has Normandy in it so yeah... also she was brough back as a squady from ME1, they can't just take her away. If they do, them me, thousands of ather Tali fans, and Himmelstor's clone army will raid BioWare
also, Shepard and Tali are "mates" or "married" and they both love each other, she is going nowhere

Ok, just getting back on, missed about sixty or so pages and have no idea what you are talking about. Regardless, I thought I should mention this:

I'm pretty sure the only way I'll be able to even think about romancing one of the other characters (except of course in my femshep playthroughs) is if I don't even go to rescue Tali from Haestrom. I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to turn her away.

maybe, but i didn't get tali exiled in my playthrough, i used the paragon choice, even though i had low paragon at the time(yay death mask/negotiation helmet!)

Lets just say hypothetically speaking SHep chose someone else...would Tali still be around? Of course, she's loyal, shes got sas and bites when backed into a corner (according to all her fanfics). Plus, the Normandy is family to her.
