I think "hiding" is pretty apt.  They wear suits even among family.  Tali's father never bothered to show to show his face to her.  I'm thinking that "necessity" also turned into "privacy" somewhere along the line.

While I don't know for sure, I would assume that turian was friends with the quarian, and found out info similar to Garrus and Tali in the elevators in ME1.  I doubt most people spend that much time chatting up quarians.

I saw that more as a joke.  Quarians are one thing, but is there any feasible way for volus to live without a suit?  Don't they breathe ammonia and have super pressurized bodies or something?  Their problems seem a lot more serious than taking some immuno boosters.

Who knows the side effects though.

Oh, I'm not saying the stuff is legit (40% success rate seems to suggest pure quackery).  I'm just syaing that I always thought the immune system thing was common knowledge.

Terminus systems have greater interaction with Quarians. Fleet likely moves more freely there. Hence knowledge more common in Terminus. Or company has found target market. Researched completely before creating advertising. Lastly... could be writers mistake.
