So I guess you learned the hard way. "Pron", or "pr0n", or "pr0nz", or anything like that is just a slang term for "porn" on the internet. The term has been in usage for, literally, years now. He expected that everyone would know what it meant, which is honestly a fair assumption.

Google it. This is a modern day reboot set in Afghanistan. Apparently it is far more "intelligent" and stealthy than "MW2" based upon some games journalists early demo impressions of it. EA have consulted with real-life "tier 1" operatives whom apparently constitute some 0.01% of the US military forces. In other words: Truly "the best of the best" and they refused to share all of their tricks of the trade with EA in order to avoid compromising their operatives in the field.
Eh, I'll wait and rent it, i like being surprised as to the content of games

i am to assume that in order to be banned they must have authority over you in order to ban you...and freedom of expression is agood thing...and to do something that you believe is innocent and to have someone be offended is one thing because you did not know how they would react....but for you to attempt to do so again knowing it upsets people is another matterThe_KFD_Case wrote...

i dont think thats the spirit. at least in this case...if u get banned from something u should ask urself why u got banned and if it is a reasonable reason....if it is then you should abstain from doing it again and not find another way into the forumThe_KFD_Case wrote...

Wouldn't be the first forum I've been banned from, and I plan on buying ME2 for the PC, so I'll be back eventually
That's the spirit! Besides, there are other things to keep oneself occupied with. I've been feeling a growing desire to get back in to some heavy gaming sessions again lately. I have a backlog of some 40+ games to complete between my PC and Xbox 360 games libraries. Nevermind the games I've already completed and may yet play again.
That's one way to approach it, however the approach you describe rests on the assumption that one actually feels they did something wrong and that the others' judgement has authority over you. I feel neither on this occasion. I recognize that BioWare has certain rules and that some postings may violate some of those rules while on BioWare's forum (which they do own, fair do), but that is a far cry from automatically accepting and substitution their stated moral compass with my own. Note that many of the policies in various internet forums are not created to be particularly enlightened nor fair, but perhaps more to keep the chances of fighting down and thus cause less trouble and work for the moderators and operators of the forum.
If you want to potentially apologize for every act you commit because someone, somewhere, somehow may end up being offended then be my guest. Personally I try to be polite to most people I encounter and generally do not go out of my way to be vindictive nor mean spirited to someone, but I also will not bow and scrape to them. Life's too short and I do not live at their pleasure nor for their pleasure. This is one of the main reasons why I think freedom of expression and civil liberties are amongst some of humanity's greatest social inventions.
A non-nuanced reply. BioWare have a very limited authority over the posters in their forum. Their authority only extends to this forum. They have no say over me nor you as individuals in the much grander scale of real life.
As for your latter argument, let me ask you this then: If it bothers someone that you say, eat pork, and you know this are you going to stop eating pork if you like it just because that other person dislikes that you do this regardless of whether you are sitting next to them or even if they have never met you in person? If you respond in the affirmative then I pity you. It is however your choice. I choose differently.

I'm surprised how sensitive people are to pornography around here. This is the internet, when is the last time you google searched something and didn't have porn pop up?
Maybe I've been meatspinned one too many times to care about barely offensive stuff, who knows...
Bioware forum has policy regarding pornography. Not offensive to me personally. Tali porn more.. out of character. Usually not as respectful as MarineBorn's Chapter 10.
and yes that is self promotion.

I've been on much stricter sites than this, and gotten away with linking far worse... Most forums I visit generally keep the rule, that if you leave the site, the responsibility is your, not theirs... If you click a link, you are agreeing to view content, especially when no illusion as to what that content may be was given...
Well, I suppose maybe the IGN boards are just more strict than most. They have to be, their site is accessed by a great deal of minors, and on top of that they keep good relations with hundreds of other companies. Linking to, or even giving instructions on how to reach inappropriate content, is always forbidden there.
But anyway, TALI!
