Hmmm...  I think the 'character manipulating you from the background' setting of Bioshock matches more closely, though.

(System Shock does need a third installment, if only to kill Shodan once and for all...)

My problem with Bioshock is that it wasn't even remotely scary (and thought it was some kind of political platform), where System Shock 2 damaged me almost as much as FEAR did.

Hmmm...  I'm not a survival horror fan, but the System Shocks were ... mostly non-threatening to me.  I found watching Bioshock to be a bit creepy (but not too bad) and Dead Space creeped the HELL out of me.

I enjoyed SS2 because of the player customization, but it didn't surprise much - it was definitely the child of SS.
  (Especially the "rescue mission" I knew was going to end with me discovering a corpse.)

Anyway...

So, here is the story of how the Suicide mission truly unfolded:: 

*Just before they go through the Omega 4 Relay*

Mordin: Found cure for Quarian immune system. More cowbell.

Shepard: Haha, very funny, doc.

Mordin: Not being funny, am serious. Vibrations caused by cowbell strikes positively stimulate Quarian immune system.

Shepard: Well, that's perfect then.

*Shepard types into his omni-tool, loading his Blue Oyster Cult album. Then goes to prepare his speech*

Shepard: I was unsure of what words to say. What words could possibly bring comfort in the face of such adversity? We don't know what we'll find beyond the Omega 4 Relay, but you know what? It doesn't matter. All you guys need to know is this: Don't fear the Reaper(s). You got that? DON'T FEAR THE ****ING REAPER!

*Shepard then starts blasting Don't Fear the Reaper through his omni-tool, and continues to do so until he destroys the Collector base, and the Human Reaper, with the ultimate ME2 dream team of Tali + Garrus.*

Now, one of them is "Save Tali or Save the Migrant Fleet", which would you choose?



If you think about it;



Saving Tali might leave her angry at you. You sacrificed her entire people, and she is fiercely loyal to them, having been willing to give up her life to save them.



But letting her die means you lose your love interest (Probably a more paragon thing, but still)



Which would you chose?

Gotta agree. With the saving that is, not so much with the flottilla meaning nothing.
At the end of the day, if you save her, she might hate you, and maybe you lose her. If you let her die, you definitely lose her.
