“Shepard, I must know, how long
can we really keep this up?”

“What do you mean?” he asked,
suddenly taken aback.

“I mean we both have duties to
our people and with the reapers coming we will have thing to do, oyu know. I
don’t think our superiors would approve.” She was talking fast, and nervously
wringing her hands.

“You said your self, the Admiralty
board can go to hell, and so can the Council for all I care. We both know that
they won’t pry, what’s this really about.”

“It’s just that I think we should
focus on the mission, that’s all.” Something was really eating her up.

“You know, for a person who hides
her face you are a really bad liar.”

She finally broke, “Shepard, when
we were on the collector base I became so worried, what if you died? What if
you hadn’t caught me at the platform, what then? If you died I wouldn’t know
what do... I... I just... I’m so scared Shepard.”

 

Shepard said nothing for a long
time, he just looked into Tali’s eyes, gripping her shoulders. He embraced her and
breathed deeply.

“Tali, throughout that whole
battle one thing kept me focused and alive. It wans’t humanity, it wasn’t the
galaxy or the Council. Thats what I fight for but that’s not why I fight. I
fight for Anderson, I fight for Miranda, Jacob, Kelly, Garrus, our crew, Grunt,
Samara, Thane, Legion, Jack. I fight for Zaeed, even though he wouldn’t want me
to, hell I even fight for Udina.”

He gripped her even tighter than
before, “But most importantly I fight for you, I fight so that we can enjoy a
good life in the future and if I die maybe my sacrifice would allow someone
else to live that life. As for you, I would take a Cain round to the gut if I
thought it would increase your chances of survival.”

Suddenly he removed her mask, she
was startled. Shepard continued, “I know you took immuno-booters, besides this
room is sterile, I can tell. We can’t change the past or the future,we can only
make the most of our time now.”

 

With that she kissed him and he
kissed her back. They fell back onto the small camp cot and for a time there
was no mission, no reapers just a human and a Quarian, making the most of the
time they had left together.

The same can be said about any character thread. It's just that we are the butt of the jokes here because of how large our thread is. 

We're held to a higher standard, and she's only 1 of 2 alien Male LIs, plus ya can't see her face and if you're shallow you won't like the 3 fingers. Only thing is, some people forget this is a game. 99% of people here can tell the difference between fantasy and reality. Trust me I experience all the highs and dives of human relationships in real life. That's why Tali and ME and sci-fi in general intrigues me so much, cuz I'm somewhat world-weary irl, I needs the change.

This brings up a good point. I'm assuming the cerberus logo may not be a permanent addition.. a logo creator would be cool, but I'd be equally as psyched to see what Bioware puts on it.

I can't really think of any pre-existing symbol in the ME universe that would make sense on it.  I assume we'll be freelance in ME3, so it should be something new and cool.  I can't see them letting us make our own, but who knows.

Tali: Well, I kinda liked that. You were always the driver, and as the engineer I always had to sit next to you to monitor systems and run diagnostics in combat. I didn't mind it being so cramped..
