That sounds... bad.
Anyway, yeah, maybe let her cool down. I'd say just tell her the truth the best you can, assuming there's nothing to hide. If there is, may want to avoid that*

Agreed. As you've already pointed out in a toe-to-toe straight up fight there does not appear to be any country at present with the military nor economic clout to beat the US industrial military complex single handedly. That includes Canada. However, as has been demonstrated in past conflicts ranging from the disasterous Soviet invasion of Finland to the Vietnam conflict and the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, to Somalia and the Iraq War (the past three all involving US military forces), relatively low tech forces by comparison managed to cause significant difficulties for the superior tech and firepower of more powerful forces.
While it would be disingenuous to compare each of the aforementioned conflicts directly since they vary wildly in terms of historical, geographical, cultural and political context, they do nonetheless demonstrate that not even a supremely powerful military is invincible nor guaranteed victory. The Russian-Finnish conflict is the one I'm most inclined to use as a theoretical comparison to a potential US-Canadian engagement. Guerilla tactics would have to be used along with extensive, long term local support and partisan forces with the aim of making the political, economic and military costs of continued occupation of, and conflict in, Canada by the US untenable for American leaders and the American public-at-large.

Yes! Now we're talking.......do not forget the poosible intervention of other nations in such a conflict........remember we have a lot of oil and other countries would prefer US doesn't gain direct control over it......Russia in particular

Victory unlikely for Canada. Unless gets very good allies. Russia. China. EU. Unlikely to occur in any case.
China and EU yes very unlikely, however Russia and Great Britain would intervene on behest of Canada........UK because of very close historical ties and Russia would see it as an unacceptable shift in the balance of power.......remember if US gets control of Canada they get Canada's major oil reserves and there are other considerations as well
Russia appears unlikely to currently have the power projection capabilities (nor requisite infrastructure to support such,) to effectively intervene in time if a blitzkrieg approach is utilized by US forces (which would seem likely given the ability of modernized US military forces to advance at a rapid rate).
