I'm not sure the percentage of haters as trolls is quite that high, hype backlash is a powerful force.  That said, the amount of people who hate Tali for legitimate reasons is definitely very low.

There is no legitimate reason to hate Tali, seriously, I can't think of one. You can be "creeped out" by Quarians, but couple that point of view with the fact that this many people love Tali, and that turns into hate for Tali?

F*cking ignorance is f*cked :P

In fairness, it's possible that Miranda doesn't know what's going to happen to poor Veetor (not likely, but possible).  Remember that Jacob specifically says Veetor will be treated well.  I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt since he seems a stand-up guy.  However, this little event shows that he hasn't the first clue about how Cerberus really works.

Hmm. Good point. Miranda trusts Cerby, Jacob doesn't, but both trusted him with Veetor interrogation. I think Miranda knew, Jacob didn't. Maybe Jacob should die in my 2nd Renegade playthrough as well, I shall not suffer the foolish to live

Uh-oh.  My defense of Jacob just got him killed.  Gonna keep my trap shut next time.

I was indifferent in ME1, mostly because I knew she was "cannot have" and didn't see the point in torturing myself.

She was my second favorite character and went with me everywhere in ME1.  I didn't mind her not being a romance option in ME1 because I had a very negative view about the romances in ME1 overall.  If I can think of a better romance plot in half an hour than the company ended up going with, it isn't worth my time worrying about.  I was perfectly happy with enjoying the Tali that I got in ME1 and hoping for ME2.  Expectations met for once

Why Bioware why would you give fans the option to do such horrible things :crying:

Because there a lot of people who...*gasp* don't like or even hate Tali! :crying:

Very few people really hate tali. Like 95% of people who claim to hate tali are trolling.

I don't undestand. Dislike for what reason? Indifferent meaning there's a difference between humans and Quarians? Of course you'd feel indifferent to her, and the same with the other aliens.  Confused.
Also, epoch, I want that firefox theme but whenever my family and friends use my computer they'll be like  and then I gotta get into an argument.

Haha woot! We think alike my friend! I romanced Liara my first playthrough, but ME1 was the first Bioware game I ever played, so I was in a state of :o the whole time anyway, so in 2nd playthrough, everything was significantly less "epic" and the LI's were actually pretty poor. Especially when compared to ME2 Talimance

I was underwhelmed by the LI's in ME1, too.  I actually liked Ash, but just couldn't countenance the xenophobia.  Also, the officer/enlisted fraternization issue put me off a little.  I was all set to like Liara (yeah, my xenophilia is showing), but she was kind of boring, really.  Cute as a button, but boring.

I was relatively indifferent towards her in ME1. She never annoyed me or anything but I also didn't see her as anything special really. Talking initial playthrough here. When i found the forums and learned of her fan base, I took a slightly different perspective.

Why did the fraternization put you off?  Realism or because of the perception that officers are higher quality?

I get not liking Tali (well, I don't really...at all), but hating her?  Seems unconscionable to me.
I love Tali more after ME2 than I did in ME1, and I really REALLY liked her in ME1.

She was easy to miss. I hardly talked to any squaddies the first time. Then google Tali (dk why :innocent:) and top subject is "Tali not a LI (sad face)" and I'm like :?:pinched::mellow::)

How come your first playthrough is like [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie] and your
2nd playthrough and beyond is like [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pouty.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie].
Storyline always epic but characters became dull except for Tali,
Garrus, and Wrex.

ME2 is like [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie] [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie] 2nd

For me, the characters in ME1 in general underwhelmed me.  Wrex was awesome from the time he showed up, but the rest aside from Tali weren't particularly interesting.  People love Garrus now, but I thought he was pretty lame in ME1 as well.  Eventually it came down to Tali being the least disinteresting because of her unique situation/background.  Then as I started taking her everywhere and talking to her I got slowly Talindoctrinated

Absolutely everyone asks this. So don't feel bad. Right click to the right of the search bar. Hit "customize" Then drag the "spaces" from the box that popped up the right of the search bar. Keep doing this and the bar will slowly move over.

Here's a picture of what it should look like.

different theme, same concept.

Power imbalance.  I've got all the power, and she's got nothing, from a military standpoint.  So... realism, I guess?  It definitely wasn't a quality judgement.  She seemed like a better soldier in general than Kaidan (and again, I say this as someone who has nothing against Kaidan).

First played ME1 a year ago, Garrus was my first insta favorite and it was the first Bioware game I ever played, his attitude and feline/dinosaur looking head seemed wicked, so when you say you thought he was pretty lame is...disappointing :crying:...try to remember your first impressions rather than the rundown of a dozen playthroughs which makes the game less appealing.

Anyways lol Talindoctrinated, gotta trademark that.

EDIT btw epoch I couldn't resist...I don't care what my friends think, I want them to ask who's that in the corner :P

I would tend to agree.  I didn't like Wrex (his badass shtick irritated me sometimes, and he seemed like a loose cannon).  Garrus was just the average renegade cop, etc.  I'll admit that Garrus grew on me, to the point where he got to go to the final showdown with me ("bring a turian to kill a turian" was the thought.  Garrus popped some lead into Saren's cranium.  I was not disappointed).

Then ME2 comes along and suddenly all these guys are golden to me.  I guess it was the shared history.  When I saw Garrus again, I was like "hot damn, it's my bro!"  And Wrex yelling "Shepard, my friend!" made me smile wide.

Heck, when you bump into the quarians on Freedom's Progress, my first thought was "damn looters!"  And then Tali appears and it's like an angelic choir started singing.

Garrus is a bro, but you gotta admit he's a born loser.  Hasn't succeeded at a damn thing in life unless Shep was there with him.

Well if its any consolation, Garrus did settle in as my 3rd favorite.  Lame may have been a little strong, I more meant that I liked him a lot less than I did in ME2.  I think part of it was that I wasn't a big fan of turians at first.  Aside from Garrus, they all came off as arrogant, usually racist jerks, and they painted the whole race negatively for me.  I actually like Garrus more on later playthroughs than the first as I got over my preconceptions.  His position as a character who could either go over to the good side or renegade side was interesting, but again, I didn't even notice that until my 2nd or 3rd playthrough.
