Well, quarians are the best engineers in the galaxy. The suit are probably very sophisticated, And notice that the suits are skin-tight :P (There really aren't much space for heavy devices.)

Consider possibility: Strength enhancment?

No, it didn't break the thread, but you've used that technique before to do it (most of the time not inadvertently<_<). BUT, I know your secret now, you sly dog. B)

I did it once to break it, and it was just to inject a little bit of life into the thread. Any other time you saw it would've been as the glitch in its natural form. :P

And in an unrelated note, I just found my cat playing with a Lizard tail (still moving!). Ugh, I wonder where the rest of it is. :?

It's quite the nice little...I don't want to say exploit, but I will ;)

And the lizard is probably hiding, likely on the roof or a wall, somewhere high up.

LOL.  It's a fair question.

Got no clue.  They look pretty flexible/skin-tight though there are definitely some hard pieces.  The greaves stand out as looking very solid.  The actual helmet looks like it might be a significant portion of the weight.  And the thick, heavy cloth she uses can't be weightless either.  Of course, we can't really know unless we know what the whole thing is made of.

Cloth hangs like velvet or brocade. Not light fabrics.

Brocade is actually a great suggestion.  And yeah, it looks relatively stiff/heavy.

Materials used in the ME setting could be lighter than what we have in the real world. What about the possibility of a weak mass effect field decreasing the weight of the suit?

I would guess, all things considered, that they weighed roughly 15
pounds? Tali is reasonably tall for a woman
(all the females are), so the weight is distributed more. I would say
without her enviro suit Tali weighs approximately 125-135 pounds? She's
got a hardbody, fellas, don't think I'm being dumb ../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png just
guessin.

Her upper body is really petite, and she has very skinny arms, but her legs are solid.  Your guess is decent.  It depends on how much the suit is adding to her apparent size.

And there we go:  magic mass effect fields.  That's why any kind of conclusion is tough.  Though such a thing could be tied in with the kinetic barriers the suit obviously has.

I considered that few posts backwards.
1) Light suits
Or
2) Strong Quarians (naturaly or by enhancment)

What I want to know is where are the complex systems of her suit stored I mean is it just spread thinly through out the suit?

Spread thinly only available option. Nanotech only likely solution. Quarians technically adept to point where nanotech is not a stretch.

This reminds me:  when I was first lurking the Tali thread, someone posted a fic about Aunt Raan and Tali's mother designing Tali's first suit and they had this big discussion about where the fabric came from and such.  There was a joke about Tali probably having her mother's hips someday.  Anyone know where I could find that again?

Something that occured to me after making the post is that such a field would probably effect whoever is wearing the suit as well.

I think a lot of the "work" done by the suit is done by the helmet. On male quarians you see many tubes and whatnot connecting their helmet to their body.

Agreed, but the distribution of weight based on height will make you go " that chick weighs how much? She looks good!".  Plus dem hips B) So add 20 pounds for the enviro-suit and you got like 150 pounds of Quarian ninja in combat (all things considered, the suit doesn't seem to inhibited their agility much at all
