i don't know why people keep having problems with this... on my first game where i didnt try to get full paragon or renegade i had absolutely no trouble getting the paragon option for them. what i did have an issue with was getting the renegade option for the tali legion disagreement.

Perhaps a bug?
Doubtful, just suggesting.

I know that. My Paragon was maybe 100 points away from full, and I STILL couldn't get them to reslove it peacefully.

Jack is more interesting that Miri, but Miri dies one way or another if you don't choose her. Tough choice.

Apparently you should be able to talk to whoever you pissed off and explain the situation to them, thereby regaining their loyalty. You don't need your paragon/renegade score maxed but still pretty damn high.

You need half as much Rene as you do Para for the consensus. Vice versa for the tali/Legion convo. That's why it's good to have both bars full when you import a character from ME1

Completed ME2 again, took Miranda and Tali to fight the Human-Reaper. Saved Tali from falling over the edge.

Miranda died (crushed by debris), but Tali lived and helped me onto the ship.

Still miss Miranda, though.

on my first playthrough, miranda died, i never noticed till 3 side missions later...

she died holding the line.

This, people, is why you do all Loyalty missions!

i did do her loyalty mission, i just chose jack over miranda(i prefer jack for the bubble over samara(and that for some reason i never have enough paragon to get jack and miranda to work it out with eachother so one doesnt hate me)

Technically, you only need to do Jacob's, Garrus', and Tali's missions for the Normandy upgrades, for hold the line you need tanks to guard the squishies and have Jacob hold the line, with Garrus and Grunt (Zaeed if you have him). Of course, it helps to do the others, but no one died for me and I skipped Jack's and Legion's loyalty missions. Also...

For the jack/Miranda thing, did you romance one of them?

nope, i went for tali.

and i did everyones loyalty mission, and i brought grunt with tali to fight the reaper laerva.

i guess i killed her by taking grunt... ah well, no one important was lost
