Personally, they have screwed themselves over. America was a great idea until they started their campaign to take over the world via democracy (which does not work).

The thread isn't talking about Tali atm. And I'm not a woman...I just don't like the fact that America has let itself go. It's the reason I'm the way I am.

Althuogh I still say every government should unite into one mega government, it would be the best thing for Humanity, given the right rules were in place... take the quarian rule about reelecting new ship officials if they overturn something, it would be handy

But knowing humanity that view seems incredibly naive.

Your right, it would only happen if our lives depended on it, and we are too stupid to ever figure that out because all humans ever do is ignore the truth, the reality is it needs to happen, the sad truth is it will never happen, and even if we did, we would all be screwed once that really messed up president/primeminister, or whatever they will call it comes into play

Hm. Interesting topic. While I have a vested interest in seeing a liberal democratic Western power like the US remain a superpower, I also think there are sound philosophical arguments that can be made as to why it is preferable - at least in terms of ideological theory - to that of an authoritarian state like China. Then again, being a Westerner myself, I'm likely somewhat biased yet nonetheless.



The US needs to clean up its finances. Quickly. No great power that can not finance itself remains a great power for long. Take for example the British Empire: Some 70-80 years ago it had a population of some 400 million and Britain was the richest nation on Earth before WWI. It was a banking nation yet once its finances collapsed so too did its empire (amongst other reasons). The Soviet Union is another classic example of this notion.

Actually our schedule just ran up on Off Topic, now were onto Fan-art, and Fan-Fics, with a little bit of tali,  now, everyone move on now... *gets some Space Polar bears to chase off stragglers* run... NOW
