I don't think I have ever directly chatted with GMR25. Does this sort of thing happen often when you initiate conversation with him?

I love all sciences with great passion, and I greatly wish I had more time on Earth to study them all. Alas, I will only be around for at best another 90 or so years (I turned 20 in February, and I'm being very generous with the 90, but my family tends to be rather long-lived), so I was forced to make a decision. I ultimately chose a science that I felt had the most room to grow and in which I felt I would feel most fulfilled and also in which I would never stop learning (I love learning new things), so I've gone with physics, specifically astrophysics and cosmology, with a healthy portion of quantum thrown in for good measure. Although I am fascinated by genetics and was one of only two people in my high school biology class with over 100 (everyone else had low As and below, far below...), I just never thought it would be highly fulfilling because eventually we'd map the entire genome and be able to manipulate DNA at will, and then it would get boring. Some fields have just been utterly exhausted, or close to it, so studying them now would be foolish because in a few years there'll be nothing left to study. It's also why I decided not to pursue a career in medicine, because I'd eventually lean all there is to learn about medicine and I wouldn't find it as fascinating anymore because I wouldn't be actively learning at all times. Now, please don't think this makes me a callous and heartless person. I want to help the human race and I enjoy helping people, but I'd rather do something great for all of humanity than something great for just a few people. I'd rather advance humans as a species rather than as individuals or small groups (compared to the total human population). Maybe that does make me callous; but if so, I don't really care.solazz wrote...

Edit: I was also more annoyed by the lack of interest in science than the spelling mistakes.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of science are you so interested in? I'm assuming some form of biology?
Of course none of this really matters (the desire to learn as much as possible before I die) because I--ok, you know the Ancients in Stargate? You remember how they 'Ascended' to a higher plane of existence where they existed as pure energy? As ridiculous as it may seem considering my highly scientifically influenced ways, I truly believe that it is possible; I just don't believe we are remotely near that point in our evolution, and that saddens me greatly.
Ok, now this is starting to turn into a "what is the meaning of life?" post, and I had better stop before I start thinking about the vastness of the 'Verse and how insignificant we are in comparison to everything and thus force myself...into a...*fetal position**fetal position**fetal position**fetal position**fetal position*. . .

Romanced
Tali on first playthrough...Tali on 2nd...Tali on 3rd...pursuing Tali
on 4th, it seriously hasn't gotten old, Liz Sroka's voice acting is
probably the reason. After one playthrough on ME1 I could care less
about romance in each of the next 8 playthroughs![]()
Agreed. No matter how many times I play that game, Tali will be my only LI.

Cosmology and physics? I used to be sooooo into that back in high school. Still am. But I decided to take the path of biology and become a doctor. It's still nice to read a little snippet about astrophysics here and there, though. It was truly "outer space" that got me into science when I was a kid.Felipe 058 wrote...
