That doesn't justify not trying to use it though.  Sure it may be dangerous, and I sure wouldn't want to be the guinea pig, but fighting a race of sentient machines bent on destroying all life isn't a safe proposition in itself.  I still contend that the benefits outweigh the risks.  No matter what we do, the reapers have the advantage.  We need every benefit we can get, and the collector base is the best thing we have.
