If they do this every 50,000 years, and we've got evidence from 37 million years ago (the derelict Reaper) that this was going on, then they have completed the cycle AT LEAST 740 times. With 2 known casualties.
Also: if they put a single race into the smoothie machine each time (assume 50% success rate, since the protheans didn't work out for them), that also means there are at least 370 Reapers. Chew on that for a moment.
What, you don't think the Reaper ship 'Clefairy' or 'Jigglypuff' is cool and ominous?

Hey, did you guys talk to EDI after she got unshackled?
She's able to tell you the stuff she couldn't before. What's interesting is she stresses that she is the Normandy now. "The hull is like my skin"
Normandy = mini-Reaper.
And Shepard's charisma is the Normandy's version of indoctrination.

In fact, since Shepard was able to talk a Saren into killing himself, Shepard's charisma > Reaper indoctrination.

37 million years of genocide. Victims in the trillions. The Reapers are pretty much cosmic ass holes. I will enjoy ending their sorry existence.Phil725 wrote...
Yeah, I've looked at those numbers before. Definitely not good. It's always possible that the success rate is less than 50%, but I also doubt that they could only get 1 reaper per civilization. Didn't it say somewhere that the protheans had near a trillion people? 37 million years is also the minimum

If there is a reaper named Jigglypuff, I think I may have just found something more epic than Tali

i wonder what BioWare was thinking when making Tali in the early concept days of Mass Effect?
I'm not sure, but the man who created the character should be given a promotion. And a raise. And also made president of something. He's earned it.
we would work for the rest of our lives if necessary to find a cure for indoctrination. its cool, we still love you too sweetcakescannedcream wrote...

My first night here I brought up the question about what would happen if Tali were taken and indoctrinated by the Reapers.
Did NOT win any friends with that. . .sorry again, folks.
I know it's not looking that way, but I really do love Tali! I do!

The smoothie machine seems to twist all the "ascended" races around to the Reaper point of view, since we don't see any dissenters to the horror of repeated galactic genocide. So I don't know just what they're preserving.Phil725 wrote...
But in their eyes they're saving people. Without reaper intervention, eventually all races will fizzle out and die. By being lifted into the heavens by the reapers into a form that lives forever, they save lives.NuclearBuddha wrote...
